Hybrid I can kind of get… but rarely seeing those on lots. The on lot EB I am finding near me have similar dealer markups and market adjustments which bump them in the range of some bigger trucks.
I only understand the high points of the Pentastar E-torque engine technology, but it could very...
I’ve wondered this myself. Seeing the on the lot options and markups, often for the EB engine—I compare with going to a different brand dealership and buying a close out special half ton truck. Multiple RAM dealerships I’ve seen posting quad cab half tons at or below some of the available...
I can’t fathom the cut throat nature of these businesses, if more than 0 dealerships treat their customers like this. This involves “special order” items that a customer chooses to have serviced by a dealer… and then wait for what has turned out to be years for some.
Are you really seeing real world mileage above the EPA estimated range? I am not a commuter, but am looking for a more efficient vehicle than our big expedition to handle my day to day errand driving. On road trips would also be nice to have something super efficient. I’ve considered the EB...
In my 2019 Expedition Max I’ve found that I get about a 10% mileage bump whenever I can buy ethanol free gas with a slightly higher octane. Math doesn’t show savings at this given the premium to buy actual regular gas vs the garbage blending has pushed into our market for 20+ years
I really wanted to buy from my local dealers (Lakeland, Winterhaven, Plant City, Bartow… etc) all had some kind of crazy dealer fee or mandatory dealer installed options to take a Maverick preorder…
I got over my preference to spend money closer to home.
Will see if the order sticks but ordering through Mullinax was painless… only frustration was the salesman breaking free long enough to take my order. I clicked a button on their site to preorder, they sent a follow up email to establish contact… phone tag… then salesman filled out my order...
Two dealerships told me they thought it would potentially delay the order as it has been a material that has been constrained for Ford. They both claimed they could do it locally when it arrives and guarantee it etc. not sure if that is a path to better margin or true constraint.
Happy to have found a dealer (Mullinax) that quickly got me through the process without screwing around with extra add ons and dealer fees like others I had been trying to order through… signed my final documents for a Hybrid XL this afternoon. Told my wife this appears to be the last...
It is kinda astounding the moving target on something like this… unless they are struggling to sort out future costs budgeting or something of that nature, strange they wouldn’t open the books and just have a production date further back…
guess this gives me a couple months to see if the bill...
