One of things I like the most about my Maverick is the flexibility of the bed and tailgate.
I like to use my tailgate as a seat and a table or bench. I put some indoor/outdoor carpet on a piece of 1/4 plywood. It makes for a simple tailgate protector/leveler.

The seats are comfortable and no issues in heat. The interior is fine, I have dinged and scratched the surfaces a bit. A quick clean up with most interior cleaner fixes the problem though.
Let's just say from the beginning my sales contact has not been doing his job. Because I have one, I'm mainly just hanging on for entertainment purposes.
After 35k miles, two recalls, one warranty repair and receiving my Yeti water bottle, it is time for a long-term review of the Maverick. Not just the truck itself but Ford customer service and the overall experience of owning this vehicle.

It is! I'm happy with the easy access and water tightness so far. And the gull wing look is growing on me so much at times I just leave them open in the garage just because lol.
Quick update on what the approach to sealing hinges. I ultimately settled on using 3 layers of waterproof fabric (silicone rubber backed Cordura) that spans the hinges for each of the hatches. I used pieces of trim I had laying around to hold the fabric on each side of hinges and edges.

They sell waterproof "moving bags" on amazon. They are nowhere near as substantial. However, a pack of 6 is very cheap. They are huge. My kids and I used them for a whole ski season without incident.
I plasti-dipped them in an attempt to protect them and provide a bit a texture. However I think just painting would be more than sufficient and much easier.
