I will bet it is the wheel bearing assembly.
I hit a curb and had to get mine replaced, it was making a grinding/thumping sound when coming to a stop without using the brakes.
Although I knew I whacked my wheel, I obliterated a stock wheel and tire.
Do any of you fine swappers know the part # for the "stock" Maverick FX4 or Lariat 6.5" Digital Display cluster? And since it probably matters the 2.0 Ecoboost version.
