  1. Snow review -- one of best handling vehicles I've owned

We're in the middle of snow storm here in southern NJ, and I had an appointment about 40 minutes away this morning. Wasn't a whole lot on the road surfaces when I left, however coming home the local streets were pretty bad, with lots of lose fluffy stuff. - I'd estimate at or close to 6" of...
  2. Had just about enough of battery saver and deep sleep

It's a combination of two(2) things, the small low-quality battery....those Spanish T4 Enhanced Cells have no stamina, ability to fully recover from a discharge, and little reserve capacity to begin with. The second issue is Ford's BMS by default limits the SoC (State of Charge) to 80% to...
  3. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

Hybrids built after around May '23 aren't even affected, for those concerned about ordering. My '23 (March build) has been fine. I've heard of 1 Hybrid fire, but ironically 3 or 4 EB2.0 units.
  4. Hyper Flash after Turn Signal Recall

They're much brighter than stock, and more likely be be noticed by the driver behind you. Not to mention an LED lights up quicker than a standard incandescent bulb being instant on at full brightness as opposed to to sort of ramp up to the brightness of the filament.
  5. Amber Turn Signals

I'd be more concerned in ECO Mode, used more frequently than Tow/Haul or Sport, which has significant Regen Braking. The biggest problem is the average driver is in half a daze, and truly not paying attention anymore. While I've put the brighter Las-Fits in all positions, I'd still like a...
  6. Maverick Hybrid Grabber Build

Don't know why more tires don't come with RWL Sidewalls, I always like the white lettering, but maybe I'm old school. Firestone Destinations are great in the snow, had them on my Outback.
  7. **New Pics** Dextero 245/65/17 All-Terrain Tires -$110 Each!!

So how much of a mileage hit did they result in? - Not that I'm changing mine until they're ready, but when the time comes, I want a big more aggressive tire for bad weather or dirt/mud roads I sometimes frequent.
  8. X-plan not listed on window sticker

Mine was D-Plan (same pricing as A-Plan) and shows /O/T 1 in that area). That area is actually the shipping information from when it leaves the plan. You're truck apparently left by CONVOY as opposed to RAIL. I don't believe the signed order sheets even show A/D/X Plan Pricing, they also show...
  9. X-plan not listed on window sticker

A/X/D Plan doesn't appear on the sticker, and the pricing is adjusted when the dealer inputs the appropriate code into their system at time of sale. The system based on the code input then automatically adjusts the pricing to Ford's A/X/D pricing. The original ordering entity, through the...
  10. Brackets on tail gate?

To answer your install question, it appears rotated 180 degrees. Pretty sure the straight side screws should be along the inward side of the tailgate. It's damp & cold, and I've been quarantining with COVID, or I'd go out and double check mine, but pretty sure it's flipped.
  11. Wonder what MPGs this would give the Mav?

Hmm, CyberMav.....I think I'll pass, doubt it gives a significant increase over a tonneau or camper top, while killing visibility and having questionable looks.
  12. Ambient Lighting Setting Gone?

Wasn't the ambient lighting a Lariat specific feature? - Although it may have been present in the menu, not sure it would do anything in an XL/XLT, did it?
  13. Did you all place order on MSRP price?

Order sheet as MSRP, and both I and the dealer knew they'd be running D-Plan pricing when it arrived, plus the 22 to 23 rollover private offer. - About as cheap as you could have bought a '23 Lariat Hybrid w/Lux/CP360+Assist/SIBL/Remote-Start. (Only major item left off was the Sunroof, which I...
  14. Winter Warning: Do not leave your wipers up when starting

My suggestion is a thin piece of PPF along the back hood edge for those who like to leave the wipers up to prevent them freezing to the windshield, and might forget to lower them before starting or remote starting. - I see those remote starting more likely to forget they're up and remember after...
  15. Engineering Explained: Do You Really Need AWD or Winter Tires? (summer/all-season/winter tires, and FWD/RWD/AWD)

Still comes down to tires. My 4x4 GMC Envoy did a 270 degree spin trying to gently get going from a stop sign. Barely touched the gas, just off idle. Miserable Goodyear tires, still with 7-8 32nds of tread. Replaced the tires the following day with a Mud & Snow tire, then great. My 87 Eldo...
  16. What's your Maverick's name / nickname?

The TARDIS..... seems bigger on the inside, and color wise a darn near perfect match.
  17. Second Thoughts

The Type 47/H5 battery will fit the enclosure, with two caveats: 1) In order to actually get the battery into the area it is necessary to pull off the right (passenger) side of the surround. The back threshold and compartment pieces just pull out by tugging on them to release the plastic...
  18. Low MPG displayed on short trips in Hybrid

Maybe I'm missing something, but a drive of less than a mile under most conditions will kick on the gas engine, and the engine will run until it reaches operating temperature. You're not going to see Hybrid like mileage on a super short trip like that, unless you manage to stay in all electric...
  19. Look What I Can Do! Hauled 700 lbs golf cart 200 miles

I'm amazed it fit width wise. And ditto on the comment about back it in. Wile that would put most of the weight in the bed, with the bracket & foot rest on the back, the front wheels would have been off the tailgate for sure.
  20. Would you buy used?

Unless really verifiable minor damage, probably not, and even if minor it better have a price reduction for it's reduced value from the incident. Problem is many have been deemed totaled for what seems like minor damage, and once there's a salvage title associated with it, it becomes difficult...
