Go - To Addition Update - The Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Wax Coating (Walmart 14.97) worked really good for me on the Mav's exterior black plastic trim. I sprayed it on a small rag, wiped/rubbed it on, let it set a bit, then wiped off any excess and gave the plastic a little...
Update on Go-To's:
1. 303 Aerospace Protectant is a go-to for interior. It does a good job on all interior plastic and the Lariat seat material. It won't fix the scratches on the blue plastic, but seems to make them a little less visible. Ford just needs to improve the quality of this...
To DeanR - try 303 Aerospace Protectant on your exterior plastic. You can basically use it on interior and exterior plastics as well as tires. I use it and it is a product that isn't a dust and dirt magnet. It doesn't shine like many others but most of the others do attract dust and dirt...
I factory ordered the protective paint film. It is applied properly and at only 2k miles is doing its job. I find it easy to remove bugs and stuff from the film but it does have flexibility to it so I'm careful about how much I put pressure on it. For some reason it did not slow my order.
Question for those who use the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions. For those who live in dusty road locations does it attract dust/dirt to the black plastic trim of our Mavericks?
Thanks
Add on to the above from IslaDelDan:
I cleaned up the mess from the Gyeon Q2m product with Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax - Pure Synthetic Polymer. I cleaned and waxed the whole truck and the shine is good. I expect the Meguiar's to hold up as I've used it in the past and won't go back to the...
No-Go -Two that do not work as advertised and I would not recommend are:
1. C4 GTechniq Permanent Trim Restorer - looks good for a few days or a week then starts coming off and my exterior trim looks aged and bad! I definitely don't recommend this for our Mavericks.
2. Gyeon Q2m Wet Coat...
I have 2k miles and have run the Pirelli's in rain. They do just fine and overall ride good for an OEM Pirelli ATR. In the past I had them as OEM on an F150 and they did a good job then too. I'd recommend using them up during non-snow months then get a set of more aggressive tires for winter...
Thank you for documenting issues or potential issues. It helps all of us - either those who currently have our Mavs or those who are in the pattern to get theirs.
The weld on my driver's side bed isn't perfect but I can live with it.
Have a good one and keep your thread going.
Classic Ford Galveston - Taylor Whitehurst (Sales Manager)
MSRP, $150 doc fee, $57.54 inventory tax, that's it. I didn't even have to ask about the $750 rebate - they automatically applied it. Clean DORA, clean purchase agreement, 88 days from order to driving off the Classic lot in my Mav...
Washed the salt and grime of 700 miles off yesterday at Buc-ees in Lake Jackson, TX. Yes - I used a car wash but Buc-ees are pretty good. I drove through the car wash with the Mav. When I switched it to N on the selector a note came up to push the L button in the center of the selector (p185...
I bought my ESP from Zeigler Ford and did it online. All Ford dealerships honor it. For my loaded Lariat AWD with the lights coverage added it was $1685. 8 years and 100K and a 100 deductible. You can save $ by price shopping. As Brian noted, Flood is another good one to check out. I saved...
My wife's 2019 Edge has the VAL engine and it has been great. I've studied up on the Cleveland 2.0 and the Valencia 2.0 and actually was glad that my Mav has the VAL engine.
What do you think?
Picked up my Mav on 12-15 with 14 miles. In 500 miles no issues, quick as all get out, 28mpg, one small paint blemish at 3mm (leaving it alone!). Totally happy with the Maverick so far and three people have stopped me to ask questions and look at it!
1. Maverick tailgate letters from Ebay at...
