I learned from my climate control swap that FORScan is only needed if the donor Escape and donee Maverick are different engine types (Hybrid/EcoBoost). On a related note, I didn't know they had a loaded Escape climate control with light pipes in the silver trim & around the dials - looks sweet...
Hi all, I did some searching around but haven't found anything that really matches. My Sync 3 system has had an annoying audio skip when using CarPlay or bluetooth since new. Any other Sync 3 people have this issue? It doesn't happen every song, but it's happened up to 3 times in a song for me...
Glad you got it sorted! The dual zone CC module lacks the lighting due to the fan speed lights, but that looks really slick! I also got the chrome strip though, looks better than the stock Maverick unit.
Not the point of the thread, see the second half of post 25.
Engineer here - you couldn't have described me better. Last time I took a car to a quick-lube shop they got oily fingerprints all over the hood, window switches, and steering wheel - nevermind up-charging because my parents' Kia takes 6 quarts and has a "special" oil filter. Haven't gone back...
Manufacturing cost. The screen is capable of displaying temp, so they decided to do that to save a few bucks (if that) per truck. I'm thankful we still have 100% hardware control of our HVAC, my friend's Ranger Lariat requires going through the infotainment to choose where the air comes out...
Reviving this thread again for more relevant information. While the HVAC module was plug-and-play in the sense that everything lit up as expected, I noticed some weird behavior with temperature setting accuracy and A/C performance.
I dove in with Forscan and noted the below differences. Most of...
Common theme I see here is double-wide carports with zero bracing, which I wouldn't trust with a snow load even if it was "rated" for it. I recently picked up a single-wide from Harbor Freight, and so far so good. We'll see how it handles a New England winter here in a few months...
Congrats on taking delivery! My first tank of gas lasted me 690 miles, and tank 2 is coming up on 600 miles. Fuel economy has been incredible if light on the gas.
That's just the tag the dealer gave me with the keys. You could use a standard business card or really any small piece of paper. You only need to insert it about an inch - if it's unobstructed, the screw isn't there. You'll know if the screw's there.
I understand many people are OK with the...
No Forscan involved! Plug and play. All buttons work, see pic below. It looks like as far as vehicle architecture goes, the heated mirrors are using the same circuit the Escape uses for the rear window defroster. This explains why it's so plug and play. EDIT: FORScan may be necessary, see Post 28
Reviving this thread to add some important info. My ‘23 Lariat Lux (Built in July 2023) did NOT have the screw between the HVAC module and the dash panel, meaning all of the clip breaking and trim removal wasn’t needed!
Check if your truck has the screw before fussing with trim/screen removal...
I hope I'm not too late to this thread! My Line-X installer did a similarly shitty job (broke bins, sprayed over flexbed power covers, sprayed over grommets, didn't spray L brackets, sprayed so thin the cyber orange could be seen through it) and I'm going through the process of having them...
