Agree, it is matter of time before EGR needs attention. Ford Maverick is not long enough on the road yet to see the issue with EGR. Time will tell. I don't believe that ford have done magic in Maverick to fix decade long issue with EGR / valve carbon deposit. every year DEP regulations are more...
my neighbor done oil catch can and EGR "fix" to his 2019 F150 ( i think 2019) and his engine oil is much, much cleaner according to oil lab results. this is a fact that PCV and EGR contribute to premature engine failure. how much it contribute it is a different question. PCV and EGR "fix" is...
do you have schematic where it shows fixed clutch between the engine flywheel by any chance? since this is eCVT transmission and it has a flywheel i would assume it has a clutch.
Egr is decade old and yet still cause the problem in a lot of engines in a long run. it is individual choice how end-user will remedy this problem or not remedy at all and accept it as a good solution designed by engineers that under EPA pressure.
I am against direct exhaust to atmosphere...
You already paid for remote control with your privacy by allowing ford access car telemetry data via Telematics Control Unit (TCU) unit. you sold your privacy vs. convenience! THERE IS NOTHING FOR FREE. TCU monitors, speed, GPS, Acceleration, vibration, oil status, fuel, your driving behavior...
yes. agree, this is very small tube compare to maverick hybrid. Maverick has a HUGE FAT tube compare to yours. I wondering what is the mix ration or percentage of exhaust gases goes for recycling ?
do you have some pictures by any chance of the stuff that you clean out? Theoretically all this stuff that you have to clean goes to your engine. just part of the contamination stays on the walls.
I went over the engine specs and build and my first discovery was that because of EPA mandates ford (and many other car manufacturers) implemented recycling program inside of the engine. here are some problems with a secondary air injection :(
1. EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) recycles...
BTW. transmission oil change procedure
i will use AMSOIL Signature Series Fuel-Efficient Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATL)
if you want to use ford oem oil: Motorcraft® MERCON® ULV Automatic Transmission Fluid
XT-12-QULV WSS-M2C949-A, MERCON® ULV
Start the engine and allow to...
Of course ford did "great" airflow design by drilling holes in skit plate and removing partially front grill air shutters after engine fire recall! What a shame. it is easier to drill holes vs. fixing fuel leakage problem.
I agree with keep it simple but extra moving parts are not necessary additional point of failure. My reason for oil bypass is the following:
1. Remove oil debris that are between 2-20 microns to prevent premature possible failure consequences of piston rings such as scratches, scuffing and...
No problem. i will explain. What i mean maverick or any other pickup of this type is not an aerodynamic car at all comparing to other cars that are like a water drop shape. An extra hole will not change car aerodynamic.
Simply put, aerodynamics is the way air interacts with objects, in this case...
