I just received Amsoil EAO34 with signature oil. filter looks good. will do next oil change with amsoil filter and oil. I am pretty sure it will take 6 quarts vs. 5.7

what is disadvantage to have a hole vs. access door? debris, aerodynamic?

I would have to call them. i am not sure if there is something for Escape hybrid.

it is still 15 extra screws to unscrew it. will extra hole harm aerodynamics? is the purpose of plastic cover for debris protection or for aerodynamic. aerodynamic ? ford pickup and aerodynamic? two incompatible things.

dealer oil change is 2 hours for me + frustration. DIY is 15 min plus frustration for removing skid plate. i will cut a 3-4" hole in a skid plate to access an oil filter.

entire skidplate has to be removed from mav hybrid. let me know if you can change an oil filter without removing entire skid plate. cut the hole in a skidplate - is the only solution that i see.

I think this what i will do most likely - cut hole about 5" so i can put my hand to screw it in oil filter. to unscrew it i can use a wrench with long extension. no physical disability - perhaps some mental :) I just dont want to get dirty. i change oil on annual basis in fall for all...
