God point about the keys in the truck. I had a similar situation. When I first bought a jump starter, I put it in the storage compartment in the back of my SUV. The SUV rear hatch opened only electrically. Fortunately I had a back-up key in the fob to unlock the front doors. I had to climb...
Obviously this is a Ford issue that they need to fix in affected vehicles but Jump starters (power packs) are relative inexpensive. I carry one in both of my vehicles. Since the 12v battery only powers the electronics and doesn't actually start the vehicle, a small one should be sufficient.
I haven't got mine yet but other threads put it under the middle consol. Others have added the 110 outlet in the bed. The inverter isn't needed for the bed light. You can pick up 12v from various sources such as the two DIY power points in the back
Wow. okay. I don't know if there are any Maverick engineers who can chime in here to verify the ratings of the various circuits in play here. But, this is clever. a 2000 Watt inverter is pulling at minimum 166 Amps at 12 volts and probably double that during peak of 4000 watts. The...
Unless you are a serious maker with electrical knowledge you don't want to mess with the HVB. Most commercially available 110v inverters are for 12v input.
I started my post with "Ford does need to improve their communications". I fully agree with you that this is their issue and their issue alone.
I am not supportive of dealers price gouging customers. Ford should step in. They are talking about moving to build to order paradigm in the future...
Ford does need to improve their communications. Especially if they want to move to a build to order paradigm. But we need to also realize we ordered a new model during a pandemic, during a chip shortage, during a transportation nightmare, during part shortages in general. Some of us ordered the...
