my rationale for going with the Ford recommended synthetic blend & oil filter is twofold ; one because all my oil changes are done at the dealership if there ever is some kind of maint related engine issue i'm covered, in warranty or not.
next, i'm retired now and dont drive as much these days...
thank you for this explanation!! that was the best info i've seen yet on how these systems work. and thats including the manual. seat & steering wheel heaters will be a big part of my soon to arrive northeast Ohio winter :)
seeing these images is fascinating. they also made me wonder for hybrids whether the power drain on the hybrid system is more or less than what one would expect from using the HVAC system to heat passenger compartment? also what happens to battery drain and MPG whenever one or both are used?
i brought a abandoned order off the lot that just happened to be Alto Blue. that color was'nt high on my list but now i'm in love with it!. i really like the depth of the 'metal flake' look from up close and the apparent depth of the finish in bright sunlight. also i'm in awe of how it 'color...
correct, as far as i know & understand that is exactly the way the hybrid braking system is designed to operate. regen 1st, then friction braking as needed. the human operator will AlWAYS have more impact, good or bad on brake pad wear than any MCU algorithm ever does.
full disclosure i am NOT a master mechanic by any definition of the term....but from this site & others plus what little the manual tells us my understanding of the hybrid braking system is that it favors using rengenerative braking to slow/stop until or unless the brake pedal pressure; speed...
i was wondering the same thing about ceramic vs organic pads. also since mine is hybrid i'm curious as to how much or little effect regenerative braking will have on brake pad wear. my guess would be less pad wear but i have no idea if thats correct or not.
i've only had my '23 Laiat hybrid since late April, about 3k miles on it so far. this is my 1st hybrid so i am still getting acclimated to this powertrain system. i believe that the hybrid drive train as implemented in our Mav's is quite well executed IMHO.
for mostly city drivers it delivers...
i got a ONN (Walmart's electronics house brand) el cheapo dash cam that performs surprisingly well.
video quality is acceptable and it comes with front and rear cameras. i have it plugged into the dash 12v power point low on the dash. i have not yet tackled 'tucking in' the ample power cord...
100% accurate to the best of my knowledge.
i am most certainly NOT a IT guy but i do happen to use a Netgear Router/Modem (no more Cable rental fee's folks) that allows both a 2.4ghz & 5ghz home network simultaneously. i use the 5ghz which seems to be faster and better at handling IoT stuff ...
in the same 'ok with waiting a little more boat' myself. i purchased my '23 Mav in late April under A-plan and Ford mandates that A-plan buyers must own or maintain title to their vehicle for a minimum of 6 months. so that means i'm hoping my '24 order does NOT get built B4 my 6mo have passed !
