Here is my thread on doing the roof, including my instructions and photos on removing the pillars and headliner: Headliner, antenna, dome light removal | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions Here is another useful thread on sound baffling in the...
  2. DIY Custom Hitch Cover for Ford Maverick 2023 (3D print STL file)

Contact NicoBonis, the OP, with regards to the hitch step design. He is the designer of the step, and a very good guy on this forum from whom I have learned a lot.
  3. DIY Custom Hitch Cover for Ford Maverick 2023 (3D print STL file)

Yes, that is vinyl that David (Speed2000) cut for me. He did the front grill as well. Very good guy on this forum, and delightful to work with. As for the hitch step, I recommend that you contact Nico directly, or look at his business: Monitoreo Inteligente de Flotas, Conductores y Cargas -...
  4. AREA 51 Maverick Photos Thread

I want to thank some of the MTC forum members for their help with my truck. David cut the vinyl for the front grill and the tailgate, which was a lot of fun for my dad and I to try our hands at applying. We enjoyed moderate success, and the pieces David cut for us were really well done...
  5. Adding tactile "bumps" to find controls

You did a nice job of adding those dots neatly. All vehicles from Ford should some with Braille for the convenience of those drivers who are blind. It could be a real market niche for the company.
  6. Perhaps pressing the lock button on the FOB two times will prevent the hybrid from going into deep sleep mode.

I find this to be true as well. It is ridiculous to have to lock my truck all the time, even at home, but since I started double-beep locking the truck (and deleted Ford Pass off my phone), the Deep Sleep issues have gone away.
  7. DIY Custom Hitch Cover for Ford Maverick 2023 (3D print STL file)

So this afternoon I punched the hitch step into the truck. It is a very low tolerance fit, which means that there is no rattle. It bears the full weight of two different fat old guys, so all in all a terrific addition to the truck. Again, Nico, this is a terrific item. Excellent design...
  8. DIY Custom Hitch Cover for Ford Maverick 2023 (3D print STL file)

The PLA filament color is even more extra in broad daylight, so I had a quick rummage in the paint cabinet and found this rubberized undercoating. Two coats of this stuff gave it a bit less of a garish coloration, and the plastic takes the paint nicely. And of course, it resists rust. Bonus!
  9. DIY Custom Hitch Cover for Ford Maverick 2023 (3D print STL file)

So I collected the final printed copy last night. The color of the PLA filament is...something...and I will need to pick out the supports and trim the strings, but otherwise Nico's ingenious idea has been realized very nicely. I am considering gluing a reflector onto the rear surface, which...
  10. 300zx gets retrofitted Explorer cluster

The patience required for him to map out the analog signals and translate them to digital inputs for the cluster is incredible.
  11. 3D Printed Tailgate Hole Caps

PETG was my first choice, but PLA filament was free and the maker told me that as a learning activity it would be fine, and I can bring some PETG filament and print the covers out with that if the designs worked. The designs seem really excellent, so I will probably order some PETG in the new...
  12. 3D Printed Tailgate Hole Caps

The maker indicated that the blue painter's tape helps taller items adhere to the base platform. Taller items apparently tend to slide or slip a bit on the X- or Y-axis without it, so that the elements that are higher on the Z-axis get out of position as the lower, base portion of the item...
  13. 3D Printed Tailgate Hole Caps

In preparation for working on NicoBonis' awesome hitch step, I used these designs to learn how to operate the CAD tool, slicer and 3D printer. I selected a black PLA and began with the smallest part. The printing of the small part took about 20 minutes. The PLA is fairly rigid, but the design...
  14. DIY Custom Hitch Cover for Ford Maverick 2023 (3D print STL file)

I have been learning how to operate a 3D printer with the ultimate goal of building one of Nico's hitch steps. After a fair bit of reading and watching Youtube videos, I printed up the tailgate hole covers and some other small bits. Today I started on his excellent hitch step design. The...
  15. Christmas Raffle! Three winners will get Muslogy's Christmas Gift

First modification to my truck was the ceramic coating.
  16. Headliner, antenna, dome light removal

Let's play "spot the camera" in this shot: And a bit closer: There is a small bracket under that lip, and I screwed a 3"-long piece of wood to it. The wood is spray-painted black, and the bracket for the camera is screwed into the wood. Not sophisticated in terms of a mount, but my wife has...
  17. Headliner, antenna, dome light removal

In the end, the door edge product was the right choice. I could apply it to the entire headliner when it was down on the seats, but I did not have to pull it out of the cab. Once it was on the headliner, and the headliner reinstalled, it is unobtrusive. If I do happen to look at it, it looks...
  18. Headliner, antenna, dome light removal

Yes, everything apart and then back together again once the vinyl was installed, the dynamat attached to the ceiling of the cabin and ceramic coating applied over the vinyl. Compared to other vehicles, the Maverick is relatively simple to disassemble and reassemble. Dropping the headliner was...
  19. Hybrid screen

Seems like an opportunity to enable this using Forscan for non-Lariat trims.
