My temp sensor seems to be accurate and does not jump around while driving and I have the irregular idle when warming up, with a key start and with remote start via fordpass.
And this is one of many reasons that I have an ipad mini in front of my head unit screen, it doesn't know or care that I'm moving. Gives me SO many more features than the head unit ever could.
My last build was over 20 years ago, there's parts that really don't change over time, things just get better and smarter.
Back when I was in the game no one would consider keeping a factory system, but that's because there was no need, MAYBE you had steering wheel volume, but that was it. That...
Yup, 100 amp, 4ga cables, I have 2 ga as well but the amp takes 4ga. I was considering a distribution block but since the battery is right by the amp my total run is less than 4' so I'm thinking the 4ga is just fine.
I haven't had any issues with my setup in my hybrid and I have the kicker 800.5 amp powering fronts/rears and a 10" JL sub. Super happy with the system.
I do NOT have a capacitor and I have had ZERO lighting dimming even when pushing the system as far as I'd like.
I have no need for the AM/FM, and not lux, I use the app for Sirius. I was kind of wondering if they had an external antenna for the cell radio, I don't use the hotspot, but I do use the fordpass app, I'll have to dig a little more into how they have it set up. Do you have any schematics of...
I'm hoping to remove it and replace it with a cell phone booster antenna. I have a weboost unit that I'd like to install in the maverick. Haven't done anything yet though.
I like what you did, here is what I did: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/home-made-tonneau-cover.7704/
I've been thinking about adding some aluminum to stiffen the top as I'd like to be able to set things on top and not worry about sagging. I think adding a rail and attaching...
Not late to the party but I wish you were... I just haven't had the free time to take it all apart. I might do it tomorrow though and if I do I'll a little adhesive after they're set.
I'm an all or nothing person, it would drive me bonkers to not do the back speakers so I did. I'm pretty happy with everything I did, I might still add an EQ to the mix to give me a little more control over what goes where. I still have a little more work to do on my sub box and the plastics...
Not sure if it's the same for Android auto, but an iPhone will trigger apple car play, but an iPad will not. Likely due to the fact that it's actually a different OS even though they are virtually identical.
Personally I can't stand the limitations and restrictions that the factory radio imposes.
I forgot to mention that I have my smart home apps on the iPad too, including my garage door app, so that's my opener.
Also as mentioned above, anytime you're using the factory screen you're going to have restrictions on what it'll do and display while moving. I love my iPad, I don't miss the...
Steering wheel controls work just fine. So do the dash controls. Also since it's an iPad it works with my phone so all phone calls and messages go right to it automatically. I used to be heavy in to Android, but apple plays so well together across multiple devices and it does it automatically...
There's a great place for a small tablet (I use an iPad mini) I use it via Bluetooth though. It pauses and starts playing automatically. I was using my phone as a hotspot but it was only $10 a month to add data to the iPad so I did that.
The clip on the left is held by a magnet so I can easily...
Yes, various relays click randomly, my camry hybrid has some odd noises after shut down as well so I didn't think much of it.
Someone mentioned the radio turning on in another vehicle in another thread. when I was doing a lot of work on the truck there would be times the radio would "turn on"...
