Technically it is just a switch. As such I would prefer a different sort of switch. I prefer the piano key type switch some Ford products have. What I don't like is where the "shifter" is. I would prefer the console real estate be used for storage space. Put the shifter switch on the dash.
You weight the steering wheel, truck thinks you have your hands on the wheel, lane centering steers the truck. There's nothing special about BlueCruise. It is just a geolocation switch. Lane centering is what steers the truck. If you have a properly equipped Maverick you can drive hands free. I...
I have a '22 Lariat Lux. I'm not up on what comes on the trucks today. I highly suggest you get adaptive cruise control with lane centering. With these you have ✌️ BlueCruise ✌️. Ford sells the 3 year BlueCruise subscription for $2100. It's ✌️free for life ✌️ on the Maverick. Hands free driving...
If your patient, and you check the parts sites diligently, I would think you can find a lid/gate in your truck's color. There's a lot of Maverick's on the road. Patience is the key. Me? I probably would buy the first available and have it painted. Good luck in your search.
The rotary "shifter" does not suck. It's not a shifter. It's a switch. It's location sucks. It takes up real estate that could be better utilized. The shifter switch should be on the dash or incorporated into the steering wheel. Somewhere other than the center console.
FORScan for the win! With FORScan I disabled
Front Bulb Turn Outage,
Rear Bulb Turn Outage,
Rear Stop Bulb Outage
The linked instructions said only to disable the first two. This didn't work for me. On a hunch I disabled the third and the hyperflashing stopped. I tested both turn signals and...
Bummer. This didn't work for me. My truck is still hyperflashing. For now I've returned the settings back to enabled.
I have a Lariat with Lux package. Does trim level matter for this change? I wouldn't think so. Nonetheless, my truck still hyperflashes. Disabling Front Bulb Turn Outage and...
I'm a BedRug fan. Bed liners aren't a one size fits all. The Maverick's bed is so small I can't see objects sliding around being a big deal. Have you considered a bed divider? You can install Ford's system or go the DIY route with channel strut. With the side rails you could divide your bed up...
The hyper flashing has to be a resistor (or lack thereof) problem. I put LEDs in my '68 and had to replace the flasher under the dash. Simple plug and play fix. I guess the Maverick (maybe all newer cars) doesn't have this this flasher like cars of yesteryear had?
Yes, I can confirm this. I had the recall done today and this is exactly what happened to my truck. LED turn signals work fine on the outside, but hyper flash on the inside as if a turn signal bulb is out.
It's real.
FORScan is the answer. Your Power Port in the BCM is set from the factory at 4,500 seconds (75 minutes). With FORScan change this to the number of seconds you prefer. I changed mine to 60. I encountered this same "problem" and it's fixed now thanks to others members who told me how to fix it.
I...
My problem is rectified thanks to FORScan. I changed the power port timeout from 4500 seconds to 60 seconds.
EDIT: and thanks to @A Sturdy Beast for steering me straight.
@A Sturdy Beast , you've got me thinking now. Maybe my outlet has always had a long time out. I'm aware of the battery issue, so months ago I set up a battery tender that I can easily use on a regular basis to top off the battery. I no longer get those battery messages. Since "fixing" that issue...
I swear my 12v outlet used to time out on vehicle exit after 60 seconds. My outlet now remains hot. It never powers down or it stays on for such a long time that I quit checking. Does your 12v outlet time out?
This may be a FORScan question. I know on my F150 I was able to program the outlet...
Here's another possible option. Lug nuts with outside threads over which you screw on plastic caps.
14x1.5 lug nuts
Screw on plastic caps
My Fiero uses this type of lug nuts. On the outside it is a nice looking "lug nut", but underneath it is just a hardened, one-piece open nut. Will these...
