  1. Competition from Toyota

I don’t doubt at all that Toyota could slap a truck body on the RAV4 pretty quick and get it to market. The issue is the RAV4 is made in Kentucky vs Mexico for the Maverick. I think they are looking at how they can make a profit in the current environment. Getting the truck designed would be the...
  2. Where are my SC home folks at ?

I even had a sticker on the side windows saying don’t clean for 48 hour or some time limit, had red spots on the tires probably because they put nitrogen in had the First Place cleaning kit, probably seat treatment and paint treatment. I went on line with them in May and ordered touch up paint...
  3. Where are my SC home folks at ?

Funny Jim Hudson story, when I ordered August 2, 2021 they tried to sell me the $2,800 bs package and I said no and they agreed. When I picked it up March 18 they had done the bs package which even included tinted front windows but they never charged me or even brought it up. I’m still not sure...
  4. Weather floor mats - Smartliner, Husky, or Weathertech?

I have Husky X-Act Contour fronts and Smart liner rears on my hybrid. No logo on the rears so no one would ever know they are different from the fronts. Great coverage on the fronts, up to the plastic on the left side, rubber under all the pedals all the way up and on the right side (driver)...
  5. How California Advanced Clean Cars II rules may guarantee a Maverick PHEV very soon [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Why are we finding all the rocks in rivers in Europe with inscriptions with record low water, there was no industrial age 500 years ago, oil, no cars, no airplanes. Al Gore said we we be dead in 8 years and said it about 20 years ago.
  6. Columbia SC Area dealers for 2023 Maverick Orders

I bought from Jim Hudson. Doc fees are their administrative charges to do paperwork, I paid $499 which is pretty standard for any new car I’ve bought and I’ve bought over 30. Jim Hudson adds about $2,800 of BS items if you try and buy one off the lot but so no and they back offon orders.
  7. Will Mavericks powertrain efficiency forever rule the "new" Compact hybrid truck class?

I think a RAV4 Hybrid based pickup would be the top competitor. Tacoma dominates mid sized trucks and the RAV4 is the top selling SUV. Ford would have the edge on price (Mexico vs Kentucky) unless Toyota could move it to Mexico. Its always best being the first out of the blocks but Toyota has a...
  8. Smartliner Floor Mats for Hybrid Maverick - Installed Photos

I had already bought the Husky X-act Contours for the front and they are great. Just ordered the Smartliner rears for the Hybrid and there is no logo on them so as far as anyone knows they are a pair. Short term I had bought some cheap Amazon rears that you cut to fit and they were decent but...
  9. Kytely Upgraded Dog Car Seat Cover (Close Color Match, inexpensive option)

OP, I have a different car seat but the same dog.
  10. First oil change on Hybrid

Every German brand BMW, Audi, Porsche and Mercedes have all come new with synthetic for at least the last 15 years. I guess Porsche doesn’t know much about engines right?
  11. Video: Summer Heat Hybrid MPG Loss Explained

Our driving is all city, 92-98 degrees and we have lost 2-3 mpg since May. My wife drove round trip to Cincinnati in June 1,000 miles round trip and got 39 mpg which is about what we are getting in city driving now with higher temperatures.
  12. Consumer Reports: Maverick Test Report updated to include Hybrid

Just saw a report on line (Google) listing resale values for trucks (mid size and full) and the Ridgeline was last at 50% after 5 years, Tacoma was top at 77%.
  13. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

The Takata airbag recall was 1000 times more serious than this recall. It took me 3 years to get replacement airbags on my 2007 BMW 335 convertible. I’m not even going to make a separate trip for this, I’ll wait until the figure out the battery wiring harness and any other issues.
  14. I test drove 4 vehicles yesterday...

Throw your wife in the back seat and tell her to sit sideways, problem solved.
  15. My first scratches...ugh

I have 3 scratches at 3 different spots around the front, 2 on the bumper and one almost exactly where yours got wacked and also with a rock. I still have a backorder on paint from Ford (Iconic Silver) from May. Bought some from ebay for a Bronco Sport and a company called Paint Scratch that...
  16. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

I hope the guys at Ford drilling the holes in the pan aren’t the same ones that drilled holes in the gas tanks.
  17. Mileage for 1st oil change for Hybrid?

Just Google Consumer Reports New York Taxis Oil Change study done back in 1996. For two years they changed 75 taxis at 3,000 miles and the others at 7,500 and found no statistical difference in wear and tear on engines that ran basically 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Change it whenever your...
  18. Disappointing 31.5 mpg on 850 miles trip: LA-Arizona-LA

My wife just drove round trip this weekend from Columbia, SC to Cincinnati, Ohio area and got 39 mpg. Not hand calculated but still great mileage, she said she averaged about 75. A lot of hilly terrain and Smoky Mountains but its still outstanding, round trip was over 1,100 miles which included...
  19. High voltage battery not holding a charge? (Hybrid city mpg dropping)

Columbia, SC here and we have gone from highs in the low 90’s to around 100-102 the last 10 days and my mileage went from 41-42 to 39.2 this tank. Humidity is the killer here but I doubt the Maverick knows what humidity is.
  20. Future Compact Toyota Pick Up

Whoever builds a hybrid with All wheel drive that can tow 3,000-3,500 lbs would own the market.
