Yes I agree TJ, the dealer markups on canceled orders are disgusting but at least those trucks are new. I thought LM was not like the others until I saw this video where they are trying to get $40k for a used XL. This is even more disgusting IMO. I asked Tim B to explain this and he has not.
Notice that Rock City did not deny working at LM. He said something only an employee should know - LM kept taking orders because they did not receive info from Ford on their allocations and no other dealer was told either.
So Rock City must be a troll that works at Long McArthur.
Per this forum, there are dealers who stopped taking 2023 orders prior to Ford's deadline because they hit their allocation. Good luck if you are one of the 800 standing in Long McArthur's line.
LM charging $40,000 for a XL with 17k...
I just noticed that the LM ad on the first page of this thread says: "Great Deal $9752 under". That means their XL for sale is actually somehow valued at $49,747. This is not misleading?
I agree Bob people love to attack no matter how rational your feelings are. Maybe they are trolls who work at the dealerships that try to make people's comments not seem credible, like RockCity saying no other dealer cut off orders early due to allocations.
I am not sensationalizing anything. I am referring the perception of gouging creating a negative reputation like people talk about all the time on this forum when they use the word stealerships. I did not think LM wanted to be like the other dealers by charging fair markups instead.
As for...
It's not market value if XLTs are sold with less ADM, like Bruce paying $32k for a brand new XLT on a canceled order. If $40k was market value the XL would have sold by now.
There are dealers who disclosed to their buyers their allocation numbers... Read the posts of people who said their...
Saul, I never said I do not like Tim. Yes I know price gouging applies to necessities but the perception of price gouging causes a negative image with the public. Dealers are called stealerships all the time on this forum for their pricing so why would LM be exempt if they also have high...
Bruce, yours is about the only logical post here. Sure Tim and LM can mark up their Mavs to $100k if they want its a free country. But not being reasonable in how much they ask makes them look shady to me. You paid $32k for a brand new XLT including a $4k markup. That seems fair. But asking $40k...
Chris, you said $10k over is for brand new in your area. This LM used XL already has 16,000 miles so $5k over MSRP would be reasonable. Usually XL AWD 4k MSRP is around $25k.
To be a fair price Tim, how about lowering your listing by $10k to $29,995 so someone does not get taken advantage of...
This is about LM's reputation on the line. To be like all the other dealers that people hate is not what they should portray. Tim is active on this forum so he needs to explain this price. Unless they find some unknowing sucker, no one will buy this. So why put this price out there and cause a...
Yes Gerardo, for some reason, people are afraid to say anything negative about LM. Tim is a car salesman who has to do whatever it takes to get big commissions and bonuses - like grabbing orders from all over the country. But guess what is going to happen when they only get allocations for 75%...
