I just got back from Autozone. Got the correct fuse tap and a little assortment of fuses that includes a fuse puller. Got a 10 amp fuse installed into it in preparation for when the project fully starts.

@inline_five What amp fuse do I need to add into the fuse tap? The tutorial says to use the existing fuse from 3 or 6 and then an extra into it but does not specify what the amp should be. Should it match the rating on the fuse I'm tapping into?

I'd be very interested to check out your tutorial if you decide to make one. The lack of pictures from this one is rather frustrating.

I have an appointment to get my driver side replaced on my hybrid under warranty. It took about 2 years for it to go bad, so hopefully by the time the same one or both axles go bad there are aftermarket options.

I hate to say it, but it looks like this thread is dead and the aftermarket project has been abandoned.

Damn. So they gave out false information, screwing the people who went by their word. What do they make 10 sets of these things at a time? An established company should have a better handle on supply than this.

I have looked if they were back in stock on Amazon almost every day. There's no way that can be true.

They quoted $250 just for a single cut on two parts so that's not a viable option at all. Will have to figure out another way.

Had to return the forscan tool I got as it wasn't able to access all modules even though it advertised that it could. Should have looked at the reviews because other people had the same problems. I have contacted a water jet company to cut the front flares where the bumper separation is. Will give a thin and precise cut.

Got everything fully installed. Just need to program the switch to illuminate when the lights are on and adjust the lamps.

Was able to achieve my project using an F-150 switch cluster.
