  1. Finally....made a deal. '24 FX4 Maverick

My history with Ford products goes back decades. My Dad didn't have a car until I was 10 years old. He worked for the railroad and we traveled by train when we visited relatives in WI and IL. My brother had financed a used '54 Customline sedan in '59 after he was forced to trade in his '55...
  2. Finally....made a deal. '24 FX4 Maverick

Okay... This Maverick journey started a week ago with a trip to my local Mitsubishi dealer thinking we may buy a small roller skate with good fuel economy and low payments. A test drive showed my wife and I the car was too small for our yearly trip to Florida. On to the Ford store to see a...
  3. Wheel swapping & TPMS question?

Where are the tpms sensors located on my '73 Maverick?
  4. Maxzina-Maverick Hood Vent Available Now!

30 seconds with a heat gun would fix that. I've mounted hood scoops with panel adhesive and King Kong couldn't pull them off. That said the style is a matter of personal choice.
  5. New guy here...

Well... Seems like the Maverick I "bought" won't be mine. I signed a purchase agreement contingent on my dealer getting the truck via dealer trade. Didn't happen...yet. They haven't been able to make an equitable trade with another dealer. I was assured that doing a dealer trade would not be...
  6. Ecoboost Transmission fluid, PTU and RDU fluid change @ 25k miles -- Tips & Results

Yes...if you want the trans to last. While I'm a Mopar fan that lifetime oil is a myth. It's only lifetime until the trans blows!
  7. Maverick Police Style Push Bar Build (utilizing Steelcraft 52220P + Custom CAD Brackets) -- custom DIY writeup

Nice work. Steel fabricating is my favorite past time. After a big wreck in my Peterbilt in 2009 (a drunk illegal pulled out of a side road and I nailed him broadside) I had to fight the other guys insurance. No money for a $1200 bumper so I fab'd my own. Keep up the good work.
  8. Accurate oil info from a real professional... be prepared tobe schooled!

I gave up on bitog years ago... especially those posts by 540rat... he was on virtually every forum know to God. Same posts...same opinions. He was a firm believer in that one armed bandit bearing scar test even though it's validity had been throughly debunked by guys who were actually IN the...

    Henry...is that you?
  10. Accurate oil info from a real professional... be prepared tobe schooled!

Nope...he is a genuine tribologist that worked for Joe Gibbs Driven oil for years. His job was testing and designing oils for racing and street use. Speed has only been on YouTube a couple months and has tens of thousands of followers... pretty good for a guy that doesn't know anything.
  11. Disappointment and honesty.

Well they can't shut down the entire fuel infrastructure with a flip of a switch. And I can make my own ethanol...

  13. Will the dealer charge me over MSRP

Around here most dealers are selling at msrp. I shopped three dealers...one offered a $500 discount but I used to work for them and they are mostly lying scumbags. I paid window sticker but got a free 7 year/100,000 mile power train warranty as part of the deal. Yea I know it really wasn't...
  14. Ecoboost Transmission fluid, PTU and RDU fluid change @ 25k miles -- Tips & Results

  15. Goodyear Assurance MaxLife or Michelin Latitude Tour or Nokian One at 245/60 R18 for Lariat EB AWD 4K

Over 5.5 million miles of over the road driving I learned that Michelin makes the best tire out there. I owned my own trucks for 22 years... a $500 11R24.5 Michelin drive tire was cheaper than a $350 tire of another brand. I got over 400,000 miles out of the Michelin XD drive tires...another...

I didn't post a link just his YouTube user name.... for some reason I'm having an issue with linking a video. Just search for " motor oil geek"...you'll find him.
  17. Ecoboost Transmission fluid, PTU and RDU fluid change @ 25k miles -- Tips & Results

The biggest favor you can do for your vehicle is keep fresh fluids in all systems...and good filters if applicable.
  18. Disappointment and honesty.

Just be advised that everyone of these issues ate usually related to the incredibly stupid emissions control equipment required to be used on these vehicles. It's not a coincidence that the goverments around the world are intent on requiring all vehicles to eventually be electric powered. Shut...
