Good point, I’m actually scared of the turbo failing and sending shrapnel into the engine block and totaling the truck around 120,000 miles like Fords other turbos…
Nice wooden kayak! How much does it weigh?
I've settled on carrying my 10' kayak in the bed with the tailgate down and bed extender at the lowest position. It's the least backpain, and the most "pre-loaded" position I can stow it in for travel at "above highway speeds".
I started with my kayak...
Y'all ever do the math between driving an F150 and Maverick?
I saved $3,750 in gas in the first 27,000 miles I drove my Maverick. Plus it cost $14,000 less than the cheapest F150 and cost about $2,500 less to insure each year...It will have saved enough to pay for another Maverick inside of 2...
Home Depot paid to replace a windshield from one of their nice employees loading boards into a Buick Enclave. Seemed to fit until the back hatch lid was closed and the front end of the boards hit the windshield.
Heck yea! That's why I spent the extra $151 too. You always have those long pieces you need from the hardware store, like this 10 ft piece of PVC pipe...wish I'd photo'd the 16 footers in the pax floorboard, out the window, and bent down to wedge inside the tailgate...
For more of what fits and...
Right! My F150 got 12 mpg. I'm averaging about 27 in my turbo Maverick and I've driven 27,000 miles, so about 1,000 gallons of gas this year. So I've used about 1,250 fewer gallons or about $3,750 less gas just for downsizing from an F150. Plus the Maverick cost about $3,000 less to insure, and...

I rocked 32' ladders on the Harbor Freight Tools bed extender with the talgate in the middle position, and ladders tucked under the Home Depot Husky toolbox designed for...
That's what I'm talking about GPSMan! I loaded sand blast grit till it was 4,000 lbs of trailer and sand and set sail getting 12.5 mpg on flat highway.
Mind adding that to this thread too?: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/what-have-you-fit-in-your-maverick.29336/
I haul my kayak with this $64 bed extender. I've used it with the tailgate up and down, adjusting the bed extender height to match:

Here's a link to what these 32ft ladders looked like strapped on the "bed extender" with the tailgate in the mid way down...
I've been working on this long list of things I've towed:

Last week I added "another Maverick" to the list of things I've towed...Had all the Ford salesmen slack jawed when I towed home the Hybrid. I...
Pretty good load there. Looks like you played Tetris.
Mind if i add it to this thread on "what fits in your Maverick?"

Consider keeping a piece of that red flag material they give away at Home Depot's loading area in your truckbox for all of these occasions.
Yea, don't underestimate the HFT's bed extender. I've used it to haul my tamarack kayak with the tailgate down, and up. It's light enough to haul it either way well above highways speeds.
