Late to the party, but I for one can't stand column shifters for some reason. Dial shifter > standard center console shifter > column shifter. Maybe because I associate them with the POS park avenue I had to drive for a summer during college.
One point of clarification from your original post. Stopping at stoplights and using regen to recharge the battery will not allow you to drive in electrical only mode "indefinitely." That'd be a perpetual motion device.
Never heard of a PHEV conversion kit from a manufacturer. That would be a major mechanical and electrical upgrade (and most likely not worth the effort or expense). Not just a bolt on kit.
I liked it during the free trial period. I'm a deadhead so had it tuned to the grateful dead channel pretty much all the time. But it's just not worth paying for with Spotify available (even putting up with the ads). Wireless Android Auto makes for a seamless Spotify experience
Bummer. So the new cable is too long? I'll bet the parts bin is a hodgepodge of old too long cables and new correct length cables and you have no idea which you'll get if you order one
Eh. My first car was manual everything - windows, locks, etc. Crank windows blow and are incredibly inconvenient if you have to open any window other than the driver's side (if it's just you in the car). And I accidentally locked myself out constantly because without a fob, it was so easy to...
Fwiw it's not always a harbinger of doom. Could just be a low 12v battery. I got it several times yesterday with my hybrid, but I believe it was because I spent a couple hours detailing my truck with my keys in my pocket (so it was constantly pinging the intelligent access) and was also in and...
Mine have been too long since day 1. Same as everyone else with an early build. Dropping the tailgate, which I've never been done, shouldn't and wouldn't stretch or pull the cables 3/4" anyway
Good luck. Far and away the best bang for your buck as far as mods/upgrades go for this truck. It's a massive improvement when getting things in and out of the bed at night/under a tonneau cover
Once you take the taillights out, there's a lot of room to work back there and fish wires. And as you can see, you can slide them up under the plastic trim on the bed wall and keep them completely out of the way
Not really, but this is the video I followed for most of it. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/anyone-tapped-factory-bed-light-to-power-aftermarket-under-rail-leds.7570/post-195683
This is the only photo I got. It's where I tapped into the bed light. I had already wrapped the...
