It's really the best way to do it. They function as if they were installed from the factory. Best part is the truck doesn't need to be turned on for them to work. I think that the 12volt harness that Ford provides for diy projects is only powered when the truck is on and then for a relatively...
I used these to tap into the existing bed light on my lariat https://a.co/d/8MLsTtm. The factory wires are small, so I did wrap them with a bit of electrical tape to give the positaps a bit more to grab onto.
So far so good several months later. Having the LED strips come on and off...
Interesting. Maybe Ford/their supplier has gotten their act together. Would you be able to give us pretty precise measurements of how long your new cables are?
There's no way to adjust them nearly enough with that method to make the tailgate level. Mine are at least 3/4" too long. I think that guy just adjusted one so that there wasn't any slack
I don't quite understand the hand wringing that goes on on this forum over the size of the fullsize spare. People acted like Ford committed a war crime when they found out the fullsize wasn't the same size as the other 4 factory tires.
It's not a donut, and it'll let you drive normally until...
I guess I should have figured OEM versions wouldn't be quite the same as aftermarket. Interesting about the different rotation period. Ford manual says 10,000 miles generally.
Link us to the supposed press release, not some YouTube video. I have the recall letter at home. I'll double check, but I'm virtually certain it said nothing about parking away from structures. Looking through NTSB docs on their website on this recall just now showed the same thing - nothing...
That's a great cover for the price. Keeps most water out except in the biggest of storms. And is super easy to take off when you need full bed access.
Having said that, I'm upgrading to a bakflip mx4. A lot more expensive, but better security, better looking, and should be more weather...
Late to the party, but I stuck these/similar LED strips directly to my factory bed liner and they're still holding on tight 6 months later. No zip ties or anything like that. I just made sure the clean the relevant parts of the bed liner real good with rubbing alcohol
Yeah that was a weird gatekeeping comment. If you don't abuse and treat your property like shit, you don't deserve it? Eff that, OP, I take care of my things
I'd absolutely still stick with a lariat lux. No questions there.
Whether I'd switch to an Ecoboost is a slightly tougher decision. Even though I love my hybrid and it's really all I need for my lifestyle, I'd probably spring for the EB with 4k towing. Saving money on gas isn't quite as...
In the Fordpass app, you can log your self-service records and upload photos of receipts.
Anyway, I diy-ed my first oil change a few months ago. Drove the truck up on a few 2x4s to get a bit of extra clearance. I'm a skinny guy, and it was tight, but not uncomfortable. Removing the skid plate...
I went with a lariat lux because I could still comfortably afford it (it came out to around $30k) and I wanted all the modern tech and slightly upscale features it came with - adaptive cruise/lane centering (which is amazing on highway trips), heated everything (never knew how much I'd love a...
