Yeah, I don't expect complete water tightness. And soaking it with the hose is putting a whole lot of water down in one place at one time - a lot more than most normal rain storms I would think. But, people have commented that they've taken this cover through a high pressure car wash and haven't...
So I snugged it up against the back window and gave it a good soak with the hose and still got leaks. Mostly in those back corners as well as where the pieces of plastic bed rail trim come together. I even tried installing pieces of leftover tailgate seal in the corners which seemed to help a...
Thanks, I'll reinstall tonight and take pictures. I think if I installed mine as close to the cab as you have there, it wouldn't go quite so far back on the tailgate as in your pictures, but I could be wrong
I have a gator sfx trifold and initially tried to install it so if was "centered" in the bed - about a one inch gap between the cover and the back window glass. However, I get a significant amount of water leaking in from the back cab-side of the bed.
I'm going to stick a small bit of that...
I used meguiars shampoo and conditioner, followed by 303 graphene nano spray (basically spray on wax). At some point I'll put 303 aerospace on the plastic trim.
After reading some mini-horror stories about the 2 piece factory lug nuts corroding and swelling over time, I picked up a set of one piece gorilla lug nuts to replace them. I went with black, and think they look really sharp with the lariat wheels (better than chrome). They do stick out a bit...
I picked up my Chapman order in Greensboro a few weeks ago as well, and my salesperson at Chapman said they'd send the FITS kit to me. Honestly completely forgot about it. Guess I'll follow up next week
Sport mode is definitely peppy. But I actually don't like the simulated shift points. Seems it would negate some of the efficiencies of an (e)CVT tranny
I think it's great. I don't understand why people make such a big deal about how CVTs drive/feel vs a traditional automatic. It just... goes. In my lariat hybrid you barely even notice the engine unless you gun it
Yeah I wish the shifter had hard stops at either end. I'm getting acclimated to it now, but my first few days with the truck, I spun the wheel CW a couple times trying to put it in park, only to realize I was still in drive when I took my foot off the brake.
Otherwise I do like the rotary...
Is keeping it below 55 really necessary during break-in? Obviously that's not recommended by the manual. And especially with a hybrid, the ICE is doing a lot less work than a normal car's, even at highway speeds
Ever seen children dart around a parking lot? You think you're a perfect driver who is never distracted and who sees everything 100% of the time? And just because a pedestrian is distracted doesn't mean they deserve to get hit by a car. There are a lot of reasons they may not see your truck...
I wouldn't mess with it. I can barely hear it in the cabin (and can't hear it at all if the radio is on). Plus it's completely for the benefit and safety of other people. Pretty selfish in my opinion to want to shut it off
