Trust me, I complained as loud as I could as well.
And it's going to remain sitting there until sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
It doesn't help much when you find out your specific combination of options is literally the only one order for that year and the critical one can only...
It sounds like you actually have a good dealer. Also every other thread I've seen dealerships have been very resistant to replace the battery and if they will, they'll only replace it with a replacement stock flooded, so you're ahead of the game there.
If you're still having issues, I think...
For the Hybrid's a stock flooded battery. The ecoboosts were as well, at least up until this year. I've heard conflicting reports on what is in the 2024s. Forscan and the BMS say AGM in all of them, but physically checking the battery shows they are flooded batteries.
I'm reaching the limits of...
One point of clarity, Ford doesn't convert or have one model year "turn into" the next. Previously, they allowed rollover orders for trucks that hadn't been produced, but those were technically new orders with the original order referenced, with all price increased and options removed that came...
Correct. There's also the additional issue of the voltage being higher than designed for a flooded battery, which means the cells are slowly being damaged every time it is recharged. Which leads to a self-destructive cycle of damaged cells increasing resistance which lowers capacity which...
I've been going off of what people have been posting based on the actual measurements of their batteries. But being the different is about 1/2", I can see the confusion.
Switching the battery type doesn't seem to actually change the charge settings. It appears those would need to be adjusted...
I think in addition to changing the type of battery, you'll also need to change the charge capacity to match a flooded battery. More info about which setting to change are in links in my other posts.
I don't believe Ford makes any of their own batteries and from what I've seen, it isn't a 99R replacement, it's a 140R.
I'm not an expert, but from everything I've seen here, it's not just that the battery type is listed as an AGM in the BMS, all of the settings in the BMS are configured from...
Best explanation of why all these battery issues are occurring.
Edit: Basically, the trucks were designed to have an AGM battery, but Ford switched it to a flooded battery without changing the proper settings. The stock battery can barely properly operate the truck if it's operating to the...
Best explanation of why all these battery issues are occurring. Though it does seem unusual that it would go from normal to completely dead that fast.
From the response (or specifically, the lack there of), I assume Ford is betting most peoples batteries will (barely) make it past the 3...
On the positive side, you could be able to see the sticker, but have the truck being held until sometime after Thanksgiving. All of the dates show above are accurate.
I got the max private offer they gave for the FY23 rollovers, but I would have considered giving up a thousand or so if it would have knocked six months off of how long I've been waiting. Best case scenario, I might get my truck a week or two after the two year anniversary of putting down my...
If you're around the Pittsburgh area and see someone staring mournfully at your Maverick while sighing to themselves, that would be me. Sorry about that.
686 days and counting...
Warranty or not, it's up to the individual dealership whether the offer courtesy vehicles. Call around and find a dealership that does. Take it there to get the work done and make it clear to the first dealership why you will not being having them do the work.
I know there have been many (many, many) threads about it, but has anyone ever seen the "official" Ford account reply with anything other than a scripted chatbot response?
Edit: Case-in-point, see directly below.
In the spring of 2022, I started looking for a vehicle to replace my 17 year old Saturn. It's a trooper, but was getting hard to find parts for and at a quarter million miles, it was time. Plus, I'm one of those people who should really have a truck to haul things but didn't want a giant, hard...
I mean, if they're going to update the manual, they should at least be honest then.
Warning: Because we chose to install an under capacity battery of a different type than this vehicle was designed for, the voltage may fall below the required level at any time, including while the vehicle is...
Who could have guessed that cheapening out and installing a battery with less capacity than what the truck was designed around would causes issues down the road? Especially after Ford sent two years refusing to acknowledge there have been repeated issues stemming from this decision.
Best...
