If you are affected by this gas tank recall, like me, see the thread linked. Long story, short: Your best option is hoping your dealer will order you a replacement truck and transfer everything over to the new VIN. Otherwise, you're probably not seeing your truck until between Thanksgiving and...
Also, don't forget that over 200 trucks sitting in "inventory" are the ones effected by the gas tank recall that can't be sold to anyone until the gas tanks are replaced, which isn't estimated to happen until around Thanksgiving.
After several hours on the phone with my dealership and Ford corporate over the past week, this is what's been confirmed to me regarding the gas tank recalls. All effected trucks are being held at depots and will not be released to the dealers for sale until the gas tank has been replaced. There...
My first truck got caught in the gas tank recall. It's sitting in Lordstown, OH right now but I was told not to expect a fix for that until Q4 2024. The dealership I ordered from put in a replacement order, which got scheduled for the last week of May. Assuming it takes the same amount of time...
I put my deposit down on July 4th, 2022 and had my order in within 4 hours of the order banks opening. I'm currently at 633 days and counting. Current estimate I have is maybe August, maybe as late as October. Though I wouldn't assume that my comedically terrible experience is the norm.
Not to put down the idea of trying to address the battery issues by hooking up a battery tender, but as a long term solution, it seems like just replacing the cheapo battery Ford installed with the battery the truck was actually designed around would be a lot less effort in the long run...
Just speculation on my part, but I was told they pulled every available spare gas tank to fix the ones they caught at the factory before they shipped. Maybe they didn't have enough to cover all the ones they caught at the factory? Though being they caught it in February, you're probably pretty...
I've had the VIN since it was scheduled. Was produced in January. Currently sitting at Ford's depot in Lordstown, OH. Won't be released until the gas tank recall in completed, estimated not to done until Q4 of 2024.
In regards to the frequent battery issues, I suspect it has more to do with Ford programing the system for one type of battery, then swapping to a cheaper battery without ever updating the software. It seems that everyone who swapped out the battery for the one the system was designed for has...
Depending on the production date, they could be affected by the gas tank recall. My understanding is that affected trucks are being held at the depots until the recall is resolved. If it's not that... typical Ford shipping delays?
At least he passed the class then. The saleman I had must have flunked out because he seemed disinterested at best and mostly just annoyed at having to have a conversation with me once every three months or so.
At the time, they were the only dealership I could find within a two hour drive that were selling at MSRP. Which is also probably why they had almost double the number of orders put in within 8 hours of the order banks opening than they ended up getting allocations for in 2023. But I blame that...
So, I have a brand new truck on the lot, literally sitting and rotting, that no one can buy until a replacement gas tank comes back in stock, not estimated until Q4 of 2024, and a replacement truck ordered with a super high priority code, but Ford isn't going to schedule any hybrid engine...
Yep, that was one of the items that went up during the price increases last fall. You should be price protected for that $100 increase, if your dealer honors it.
They're not as common here in that States as they are in Canada since we don't get the bitter cold winters that make them almost mandatory. The main reason I want one is that as long as I remember to plug it into the timer, I get to walk out, start my truck much more easily, and have heat right...
Hybrid XLT
Lux, Copilot, and Engine Heater
Atlas Blue
According to the sales manager, mine is literally the only one with those exact options that was made this year, so no chance of finding a replacement. The big hangup is the engine heater. It has to be installed at the factory. Ford won't...
I would hope so, but I can't honestly recall ever seeing anyone that's sent their information to it come back to report that they're had the issue resolved because of it, so I'm not going to hold my breath there.
This seems to be the place to find if there's anyone out there with worse luck then me when it comes to getting their Maverick. I put my deposit down on July 4th, 2022 and it looks like, best case scenario, I might receive my Maverick by July 4th, 2024. If I'm unlucky, which seems to be the only...
My truck is in the same boat. Talking to the Sales Manager, it sounds like Ford won't let them sell the trucks until the repair is done, but they also aren't going to make any extra gas tanks until the end of the MY production run, sometime in Q4 2024. He's looking into reenter my order as an...
