I'm looking at the same rack mounting issue if I add a RTT. Im putting a rack on the bed rails but the RTT will extend over the cab and cover the antenna. Sure that will kill the reception. The placement would have been better close to the front windshield like the F150s and side fender antenna...

You could try 2 inch aluminum(sold at home depot) angle cut to it and 3m tape painted or powder coated black. You may need to tap the top down carefully so it's flat or have abode shop just flatten the top out. The crease wood be covered with the angle aluminum . Just an idea...

I stopped by my dealer today in Quincy MA. He had two XLT AWD, 1 FX4 Lux for retail. in Area 51. Still waiting on my Lariat. I do like the Area 51 color that I ordered.

I have had many trucks and it happens to me from time to time. Left the tailgate down on the freeway and passerby pointed. I always thought it would be better to replace the seat bell chime with a tailgate chime. or you can just mount a flag on the tailgate visible in the rearview mirror.

I agree . I ordered the Lariat with 4K and FX4. I am driving the XLT with FX4 and Wildpeak tires, Hill Decent works will along with the two hooks. Runs well in deep snow! I think it was the combo is worth it if you go off road a bit. Not like the Raptor but runs well on gravel trails.
