I always like when people do the white/red retro paint scheme like on this F-150. Iām not sure whatās changed on the black appearance package so it may not work, but Iām waiting for someone to do this with their Mav!
I would have done it to mine, but Iām self employed and bought mine as my work...
Yep as previously stated itās just a re-badged Nissan Frontier. Mitsubishi attempted to break into the American pickup market with their Raider as well, which was really just a Dodge Dakota. Both of these trucks just have different body panels and badges but mechanically arenāt changed from the...
What is it that you are towing? If it has a large surface area, like a camping trailer, it will create a lot of drag, thus you will be on the turbo (assuming itās an EcoBoost) constantly. This problem is exasperated if itās a hilly area. There were lots of cases with the 3.5 EcoBoost where...
Same here, I had always assumed that was one of the perks of using a dealership for service. Iām willing to pay a higher dealership shop rate when out of warranty, as long as thereās a loaner. Thatās why I take my older Mercedes to the dealership for repairs still, they donāt care how old your...
Thanks for the info about Harris! I left a voicemail with them and was waiting to hear back. Ill check with the Bellevue dealership next š I completely forgot about them š
I drive 200+ miles per day, Iām self employed and my Mav is my work truck. Ive already got 35k+ miles on the odo. That is a good suggestion though for anyone in a similar situation that doesnāt drive the miles. I wouldnāt have even thought of that š
Does anyone know which dealerships in Western Wa offer a loaner vehicle. Bickford Ford has loaners and no-cost rentals (whichever is available at time of service), however I was wanting to use a different dealership due to a previous repair that went south. Truck is all mended now, but I want to...
I bought my EB AWD specifically to use as my work vehicle as Iām self employed. I have about 1000-1300+ lbs of payload in the bed every day and average 24.5mpg driving in the mountains where I work. Iāve never even driven the truck without at least 750lbs in the back so Iām sure I could get...
Yeah no kidding, I just switched dealers since my previous one kept screwing things up on my truck and the new dealership only covers $40 for a rentalā¦. I just bout a brand new truck and I have to pay for the rental? Cāmon @FordMotorCompany this is just ridiculous customer service š
I totally agree that the EcoBoost pulls really strong when hauling or towing. They obviously didnāt want the Mav to take too much away from potential Ranger customers, but I think it could safely pull 5k lbs no problem depending on the terrain and driver.
I donāt recommend anyone to do that or...
Iāve honestly never even heard of the stuff before, Iāll have to look into it. Does it spray on like paint (meaning I have to mask off surrounding areas) or does it only have a chemical reaction when hitting corrosion?
Nope I didnāt get the FX4 or 4K tow packages as I wanted the āhighwayā gearing of the regular. I would love to add a trans cooler though š
The Tremor would be interesting, I love that you can ālockā it in AWD and the rear diff, but it lost a couple hundred pounds of payload, which is a bummer...
My service area is a mountain pass in the cascade mountains, so much of my service area is on forest service roads, unmaintained/gravel and definitely snow in the winter. FWD is a no go even going up some customers steep gravel driveways without snow. But you are totally correct that a hybrid...
I just had it done at the dealership, I canāt remember what each individual item cost, but I had the trans serviced, and oil change and the center diff serviced as well and in total it was a little under $550. I didnāt do the rear diff, since it was done at 20k miles
I actually haul mostly car batteries. I do roadside assistance (hence the miles) as well as battery installations, so I keep an inventory of around 20 or so batteries, plus my tools and my dog who rides along š
Iāve attached a copy of the oil analysis that I had done on my truck. I had the trans serviced at 25k miles since I have 1k-1.2k pounds of payload that I haul everyday (self employed, bought this as my work truck). The owners manual says to service at 30k miles for severe duty cycle so I was a...
That is right around the mileage that my rear diff went out and needed replacing. Mine started making faint noises around 15k miles and was replaced at 19k miles when it was noticeable going around any corner at low speeds. Iām currently a little over 33k miles and the new diff has been silent...
