$1,131.66 for full replacement from Safelite. The windshield and labor are only $464. $40 to recycle the glass. The rest is the recalibration of the camera. I also figured I was all-in and so I am having them go ahead and Rain-X treat it while they are here. That was only $45 so it is worth it...
In talking with my wife, seems the carwash place did take a claim. Said they would email or call for next steps. Given that the crack is in view of the lane centering camera, the entire thing will have to be replaced. Safelite quoted me roughly $1,000 for the job.
I stick with Michelins. Friend of mine that owns a tire shop said Michelin tires are like wearing slippers. They are softer on the road and thus you get less road noise than other tires, but that softness comes at the cost of longevity. However, over the life of the truck, that's maybe one extra...
Edmunds is not a clickbait org. It carries weight.
No one likes being told they bought a piece of junk even if it is true. My father once joked that the only reason people are proud of their Mercedes is because they don't want to admit they were stupid enough to buy a Mercedes. So, they buy...

Why did the Maverick win?
You don't need as much truck as you think, and the Ford Maverick proves it. Despite being the smallest pickup on sale, the Maverick packs capability, practicality, and utility into a package that fits anywhere. With an...
The video is very well put together. Very impressive, Ford.
I'm also interested to see if some of these enhancements in aerodynamics make it to Maverick.
I posted this in another thread, but Ford should offer to turn it off or make it opt-in rather than opt-out... for a fee. Ford will make a little extra money because people will pay to do it. Then dealers can throw it in for free at as part of a regular service job. Easy win for both sides.
No joke, Ford should charge a fee to permanently disable it or reverse the switch so it is opt-in instead of opt-out. They make a little extra money and consumers would 100% pay it.
And that's what my dealership did. I drove a line of F-150s for the 6 month period. Took an F-150 Lariat to the beach because the Explorer wasn't ready. All to get rid of it anyway because we filled it to the gills on trips. We've yet to pull that off with the Expedition Max my wife upgraded to...
Yes, but don't do it. I bought an Explorer and it sat on the dealership for six months before I could bring it home. I couldn't even have them buy it back because according to state law, it became used the moment my name when on the title.
Lesson learned. I only buy things I can drive off the...
Looks good, but I agree with the above sentiment on drilling holes in my Maverick.
Quick serious question, why did you opt for a roof rack rather than a bed rack?
I get the sentiment. I always seem to buy the wrong thing as well. I have a unicorn in my Maverick as it was the one year of stripped down Lariat meaning I am missing a few features that came standard in every other year Lariat.
Oh well, I like Bruce. I was telling my wife this weekend the...
Correct. Ford has pretty much maxed out Maverick production and it still only accounted for 7% of total sales. If Maverick only makes up 7% of Ford's sales even with an effective monopoly on the segment, why would Ram want to invest into that segment when their sales numbers pale in comparison...
