Probably makes no difference on MPG. But it keeps anything in the truck bed from being visible. If it's a "hard" cover it makes taking a look more difficult.
And most of us are of the opinion they just look nice.
Someone else already mentioned this - but
I'm not sure why anyone thinks this is an issue. The truck is rated to tow 2,000 lbs. The trailer weighs less than that. 1860 the original post said. A later post says scales showed lighter still.
It is a fine, within spec set up. Enjoy your trip and...
Thank you for the link. That is very interesting.
I kinda like it. The interior is good looking. Exterior is at least OK, though the RAM badges front and rear seem too large for the truck. Nice center screen, has standard decent number of amenities.
85 HP doesn't sound like much but then I'm...
I'll answer the question of the day. Meet Cow. Cow is not in the dash cubby today. Cow will be in the dash cubby forever - or at least as long as the truck is mine.
Cow is a tiny stuffed toy given to me by my youngest daughter when she was very young. Mid-late 1990's maybe. And Cow has lived...
Actually, a couple of bags of sand or gravel in a vehicle - regardless of type of vehicle or drive wheel system - is is a good idea in areas that get a fair amount of snow or ice. Not for weight. But to throw under and in front of the tires in case you get stuck.
I was surprised - when I...
Without coverage period it's pie in sky as well....just sayin. :D
$625 every six months is a a bit over 2x more than I pay for similar coverage in Indiana (100/300 and $200 deductible) through State Farm. If it's $625 a year it's close to our cost. God forbid it's $625 a month LOL. I know...

State lemon laws can be a bit more complicated when bought in one State but licensed in another. And it varies between SOME States and Federal lemon laws when the vehicle is purchased used - even if only a few hundred miles driven. That was my exact situation when we bought our 2018...
You have one other option. The one many of us choose. Order an XL and then add the options that you want to bring it to more an XLT spec.
"Coleman cooler door panels and dash inserts" 😁 That is really perfect. Combine that with pumpkin colored accents and your wife expresses how I felt about...
Start counting days. Business day 31 (count based on days the Service Dept is open) send or hand a letter that you want to return the car under the Federal (or your State if terms are better) Lemon Law.
If you are willing to take the price you paid in trade against something else they have or...
I received several such emails over the 12 months and two weeks Ford took to build mine. It's nothing to really be concerned about. Someday you'll get an email saying your on the schedule and a VIN
Others have mentioned going to a different dealership for warranty repairs. May well be worth the effort. It's standard advice from places like Edmund's and Consumer Reports.
Others have mentioned selling it and moving on.
I will mention this is why the 1975 Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act exists...
Nice looking older truck!
I'd love the option for a vinyl interior. Floors and seat covers. My truck isn't a "work truck" but vinyl looks at home on a truck and it is soooo much easier to keep clean.
I'm late commenting, but I ordered and after a year received a base XL Hybrid. IMHO it has the best looking interior, which is absolutely why I ordered it. I really, really dislike the looks of the XLT interior and find the Lariat only acceptable. No shade meant to be thrown on those that...
Why I'm not sure, but I re-watched the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" movie just a couple of days ago. One of the first things I noticed is that Eleanor - the 1973 Mach 1 with the endless chase scene - had steelies with chrome rings and hubcaps.
I replaced the steelies on my XL, but I...
The 2.0 ecoboost motor has certainly proved to be far more reliable than the 1.6 and 1.5 four cylinder motors that Ford has used the past decade (the 3 cylinder 1.5 is new so we will see) But the 2.5 Duratec motor has a pretty good history as well and goes back to 2001 in North America. Jointly...
I've been a subscriber to Consumer Reports for 40+ years. My degree is also in Poly Sci, which has a heavy emphasis on polling and statistics.
I could write a wall of text on it, but the short version is that CR's car reliability (as well as other products, since their annual survey to members...
The idea sounds fun but the time doesn't seem so ideal. Indianapolis can be pretty darn cold in January. We would want to spend time outside looking over each other's trucks, right? So maybe sometime in the summer of 2023??
