I purchased my 2022 XL Hybrid new on Oct 5, 2022. Mileage is now 15,000. Just the past several weeks I have noticed this "surging" at stop. It's very subtle - at first I wasn't even sure if I was imagining it. It only happens until the engine warms up.
The first time it happened a few weeks...
Lots of people have mentioned the reasons - winter gas, denser air. ICE engine running more to provide heat and hybrid owners really sensitive to gas mileage. I will add one thing:
Do you have the AC on? I'm not sure what it depends on, but if the AC is on to help defog the windshield gas...
I'm fond of the gray color because basically it.... does not stand out. The so called grayscale colors (White, black, gray and silver) are the most popular colors for cars.
it is 25% on everything. Not just trucks. "cost to society" is pretty much subjective. Influenced by what people WANT TO BELIEVE. While the sticker price on cars, trucks, fruits, vegetables is not debatable nor subject to interpretation. Last year America imported more goods from Mexico than...
I suspect nothing will happen. Canada and Mexico will make some promises that make 47 look good / got a win and everything remains the same.
The reason I think this is because I believe 47 isn't stupid. He' saw what price inflation did to the previous administration. And the deal with tariffs...
Sweet!
When I had the Rostra cruise control and heated seats installed on my 2022 XL hybrid I thought seriously about getting Katskin leather seat covers installed at the same time. But the reason I bought the XL is because liked the black/gray interior on the XL. The orange accents and Coleman...
As others have said I deleted the Ford Pass app that the salesperson at the dealer "helpfully" installed it for me when I picked the truck up. I removed it a couple of days later after reading up on it. The app spies on you. Logs all your driving, where you are. That is NOT WORTH a tiny bit of...
Gas Direct injection (GDI) engines can be prone to carbon build up on the intake valves. Reducing performance and requiring a trip to a mechanic for cleaning.
Toyota has both port injection and GDI. Just enough fuel passes through the intake manifold and past the valves to keep them clean...
If you mean the Maverick and the Rivian are not butt ugly like the Tesla Cybertruck, then yes they look similar. But IMHO the Maverick is MINIMUM $40K less and still better looking.
"Can't have too much horsepower?" It depends - you know - on what you value. I owned a number of used cars/trucks in my younger years, but my first "new" car was a 1984 Honda CRX HF. It made 58 horsepower but got over 40mpg in the city and mid 50's on the highway. Today, that equals or exceeds...
I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying the opposite. Consumers can make modifications to their vehicles - say things like after market exhaust, different stereo, after market cruise control (missing on 2022 XL) - and the vehicle warranty should be unaffected. Under the Magnuson-Moss warranty...
I'm old as well so recall the original "why" of adding ethanol to gas. It was to reduce oil imports. Replace a portion of our oil imports with something domestically produced. But since 2019 America has been a net energy producer. The original reason has gotten kinda lost. Now it's just...
That's a great average!
I should mention that I calculated mileage manually - miles traveled and amount of gas put in the truck. But as you mention, according to the mpg estimate on the dash, my mileage was actually a bit better in the mountainous stretch (I had to stop for a break....) than...
Just thought I'd share. I made my first long trip with my 2022 Maverick XL hybrid. 607 miles there, 607 back.
The trip to North Carolina I drove the way I always have for long trips. Staying 3-5 mph over the speed limit. The vast majority of the travel the speed limit was 70. Even on the West...
I have the hard roll up. Pros and cons
1) It looks nice and has a cool "FORD" logo showing when rolled up.
2) It's been pretty water tight
3) It seems sturdy
4) It blocks maybe a little less of the rear window than a trifold.
Cons
1) The absolutely useless two strips of felt on the...
I don't change my own oil. I don't see it as cost effective. While under factory warranty I take it to a dealership (we have three different in the area). After that I alternate between an oil change place and Firestone (to get tires rotated)
Just yesterday I got a offer in the mail from where...
IMHO, a near meaningless video. I don't care about what color the internal parts they examined are. The REAL point is under their test conditions, BOTH engines went 500,000 miles. Far, FAR more than what the overwhelming majority will put on their vehicles. For this video to be meaningful they...
