There's a TON of confusion and misinformation going around, prolly not the last time you'll come across it. Lord knows I've waded through a ton.
FWIW: As was mentioned above, Tim from Long MacArthur Ford has been the most accurate source of information I've come across.
Obviously, extended warranties are always a calculated risk and really come down to each person's appetite for risk. With that said:
1. I've owned 3 new Fords in the last 12 years and every single one has had electronic devices start bugging out/stop working RIGHT after the base warranty expired...
My experience so far:
7/13 AM - Emailed some local dealers looking for anyone that would do X Plan, with no BS dealer add-ons and, at minimum a refundable deposit, although I preferred no deposit.
7/13 PM - Received a response from a dealer that fit my criteria and didn't want any deposit...
In a comedic twist?
"I want my truck right now!" and "I don't want to see any opinions that differ from mine!" come from the same entitled and easily excitable point of view.
Some folks need to chill out.
All I had to do was text a pic of my DL to the dealership. I haven't signed a DORA, put down a deposit, seen or even talked to my salesman yet (only email/text) and I'm already scheduled for a build.
Wonder if your dealer got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and is having to pay for it now?
This has nothing to do with anything but I grew up in Olathe. Haven't seen that town mentioned outside of my family in quite some time, lol.
Congrats on getting scheduled tho!
Still haven't even received an order confirmation from Ford but my dealer just let me know I'm scheduled for 10/11 build, order date of 7/14.
Lariat - Ecoboost - Cactus Grey - Lux - Moonroof.
I'd be curious to know if you ever receive the email, seems like more and more folks are not receiving the Ford notifications and instead have to rely on luck (like you) or badgering their salesperson to find anything out, which I really hate to do; especially on an order like this.
Yeah, beginning to sound like some of the hybrid build notices may come out with the option to opt for a 2023 EcoBoost within the same timeframe.
Maybe I showed up in the wrong thread, we went from whether the Mav was a girl truck to 2A and drag queens:unsure:....damn, I love the Internet.
As for the OP, I dunno about a "girl truck" but I have been referring to it as "the truck that actually fits in parking spots". Far less controversial...
I posted this over in the Southwest forum too but Sanderson Ford in Glendale, AZ has a Mav coming down there next week for Dealer training. Looking forward to heading down and scoping it out!
Thanks!
Nice to hear that, apparently, Ford just can't figure out how to send automated emails with anything approaching consistency, regardless of what that notification might be.
I'm doing the same thing with Carmax/etc. The car goes when either:
1. The offer drops down to a predetermined...
I was one of the (seemingly) several folks that never got an email from Ford confirming my order when it was placed, back on 7/14. My salesperson has sent me a pic of the Build Sheet, so I'm pretty sure the order was finalized properly, but it'd also be nice to have received something from Ford...
