I agree. I think there is a market for a truck like this; guys like me!
I donāt need/want a large bed. If you need a larger bed, thatās what the Ranger is for.
Iām just worried about the towing capacity.
That's a Sports Trac with the Bronco Sport front end glued on the front and the leaked Maverick tailgate glued on the back! I'm not kidding, it IS the Sport Trac (a product Ford should have never cancelled!)
This is the best explanation of the difference between 4WD vs. AWD.. although with recent enhancements Subaru has made available on some of their models, as well as what Ford has done with AWD on the Bronco Sport, there is a little blurring between the two...
I hear you. My Ridgeline is an RTL-E, and at $45K new, should have many of the things I complained about. Reason why the base is so high on the Ridgeline is bc they make no ābasicā version of it (even further limiting its appeal)..
Iām really hoping Ford makes a Lariat version of the Maverick...
Want to buy a 2019 Ridgeline? You can buy mine as soon as the Maverick is available. As a product, the Ridgeline is an enigma, which is why Honda has had such a hard time selling it.
I really hate the emasculated, soccer-mom Odyssey front-end.
When I bought my Ridgeline, it was the thing I kept...
Thereās the typical cool things Honda thought of, like the in-bed storage that doubles as a cooler. Spare under the bed instead of being under the truck. AC power outlets. And a goofy but cool one is you can turn the truck bed into a big speaker for the sound system. Carbon fiber bed liner...
Yes, thanx for posting this! The Bronco Sport actually has a lower towing capacity than an AWD Escape? Yikes!
I owned a 2014 Escape AWD (same platform) and it had a 3,500 lb. towing capacity.
That low a towing capacity would be a deal-breaker for me. š
Any word on towing capacity for the 4WD version? I need it to be able to tow my boat & trailer (3900 lb.)
Think theyāll make a Lariat edition? Thatās what Iād be interested in..
Yes, the Ridgeline has a huge under bed compartment that can double as a cooler for tailgate parties. It also has a shelf in the top for the spare & jack which is pretty clever and convenient. It would actually make sense for the Maverick as well considering the independent rear suspension...
What would be nice is if they put a tailgate on it similar to the Honda Ridgeline where the tailgate can either open down or to the side (like station wagons did in days gone by)
