The second day of ownership I decided to get ahead of the FORD rust issues by coating every crack and orifice on the truck. It's low cost and works to prevent standing water and coats the metal to seal from corrosion. About $9.00 a can and I used two cans to do the bed, rockers, rear taillight...
Ford has been working on the rust problem since the 60's when industry designed machines to made thin sheet metal. Apparently, Ford believes surface rust is acceptable.

They will take anything because there are dealers all over the country looking for a fixer up to sell. All our car lots are empty and begging for people to sell their cars and trucks to them.
We don't have HomeLink, and the Lariat mirror works well. So, I needed a place for my garage door opener and what better place.
A dap of 100% clear silicone caulk top and bottom holds in place and to change the battery every six years only takes a little tug and it will come right out.

I installed lock box yesterday (next to battery box), cheap $23 rear floor mat and petal covers.
Only thing left is HIGH VOLTAGE LABEL for lock box.

I have been asked over two dozen times about my Maverick and would I recommend buying one.
My answer is I can't say yes or no at this time. I send them to MAVERICK TRUCK CLUB FORUM and tell them to make up their own mind.
They know it's a big problem with the hybrid Maverick. They have been working on it for several months and I believe they are looking for a software fix. It may be an expensive hardware fix that will break the back of FORD along with the other recalls.
The problem is that FORD doesn't have a clue on how to fix the problem. The dealer techs don't have enough training to diagnose the Maverick. They are headed to another major recall just like the MACH E. The whole-time management is patting themselves on the back for big profits.
