  1. First Time Snow Storm Performance Review (AWD Maverick in Wisconsin) 👍

@Grunkster I'm dabbling getting these same Yokohama Geolandar CV 4S tires for my Hybrid, in the stock Lariat 225/60-R18 size. May I ask you: How have these been for you through the spring and summer there? By chance: any offroad experience with these CV 4S Geolandars? I'm curious how these...
  2. Why should I charge my 12v battery?

You may be right with your warning, and we'll see! But the truck has been flawless since installing that Group 140R AGM. I have fiddled a bit with the SOC target rate in ForScan, kept it at 95% for a while, and even bumped it up to 100% just to see what it would do. With either setting, right...
  3. Why should I charge my 12v battery?

My experience: simply installing an AGM battery solved my Hybrid's deep sleep issues. No need for a charger. The Hybrid Maverick should have had an AGM battery from the factory, just like all (similar) Toyota planetary Hybrids do. I've had multiple Hybrid Toyotas, and have had zero battery...
  4. 2023 Hybrid Keeps Dieing ...

Looks like your 12V battery is toast. With the battery charging logic in the truck that shoots for 60-80% State of Charge on the battery, combined with a bad FLA (=chemistry) battery, you'll end up with this type of behavior. Your truck not starting at all means the battery is totally done...
  5. I didn't think I bought a Plug In Hybrid , but my low battery issues make it seem like it is. 2024 Mav, Lariat Hybrid

Here's my writeup on this issue: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/15-2v-charging-seems-a-bit-high-while-driving.43755/post-771567 Look for a GROUP 140R AGM battery. That ACDelco listed above is indeed a Group 140R AGM, and should be fine. This is the battery that I installed...
  6. So how do we think the Hybrid 2025 Maverick is going to do towing 4k lbs?

My thoughts: It seems there are two camps: #1 owners that expect to mostly EFFORTLESSLY tow with their vehicle and the #2 camp where people expect to be able to tow a load but expect to slow down as needed. And I think there is nothing wrong with either set of expectations of course. I do...
  7. '23 hybrid towing *gulp* 3k

These brake controllers are not all that complicated and use two main inputs to engage the electric trailer brake output : 1) the brake light trigger switch wire and 2) the physical deceleration of the vehicle, as measured by a sensor inside the brake controller unit. Then there are some...
  8. '23 hybrid towing *gulp* 3k

@The Real Maverick is not wrong. There not being a plug and play brake controller on the market for the Maverick doesn't mean that a trailer brake controller doesn't work on the Maverick Hybrid. Any typical brake controller, properly installed, will work just fine. I installed a RedArc brake...
  9. '23 hybrid towing *gulp* 3k

@NGeezy Totally agree with @The Real Maverick Our little camp trailer is certainly a bit above 2,000 lbs. with full water, double propane, full refrigerator, etc. Zero issues towing it with the hybrid. Just take it slower when you feel the truck is working hard hauling uphill. I would...
  10. USA Made Tonneau Cover recommendations?

I have the all-aluminum Lomax Stance Tri fold Hard cover, and their website states that it is built in North Dakota. I ordered it straight from their website back in 2022. In my opinion: this is a truly solid cover for the Maverick. I had mine for over two years and 56k miles, and it is about...
  11. 15.2v charging seems a bit high while driving

@scotty ANY Group 140R battery will drop right in, no tweaks needed. Just make sure it is an AGM. It doesn't matter if it is that UPlus I bought, that AC Delco you see owners mentioning around here, or any other Group 140R: it will fit without mods.
  12. 15.2v charging seems a bit high while driving

@scotty Ford will likely not replace your battery unless it doesn't pass their standard battery test. Going by what I've read on these forums, you will have "deep sleep" occurrences well ahead of that time with the stock battery. Ford likely won't replace it with anything else but a Ford...
  13. Hybrid +12V Battery Replacement

@HeyBales No issue with the height of the 140R, I don't think there is much (if any) difference with the 99R I pulled out, so it is not even tight between the 140R and the cover.
  14. Hybrid +12V Battery Replacement

I have no idea either, but note that T4/Group 99R and H4/Group 140R size batteries are almost the same size and have the same exact footprint. Maybe you have a flooded type H4/Group 140R battery in yours. Wouldn't worry about it though! Group 99R/T4 I have yet to find in AGM (only flooded...
  15. 15.2v charging seems a bit high while driving

@scotty Yes, that is exactly the battery I got. H4/Group 140R is the correct AGM battery for the Hybrid. Don't worry whether they say it fits the Maverick Hybrid: it drops right in! Note that their 120RC figure on the listing is also incorrect: the product picture (label) actually shows the...
  16. Hybrid +12V Battery Replacement

The stock battery in the Maverick Hybrid is Group size 99R, which I incorrectly cross-referenced to H4, where it should have been T4. Good eye! I'll correct my post above, with thanks. Note: both H4 and T4 are DIN (European) codes, they are not BCI group sizes. OEM battery in the Maverick...
  17. 15.2v charging seems a bit high while driving

@scotty You can indeed swap the battery with another H4/Group 140R without removing the plastic around it as it fits through the top opening, and doing it that way was my initial plan. But after fiddling for a while with long extensions and a flashlight (and a few bad words!) I instead opted...
  18. Hybrid +12V Battery Replacement

@scotty The standard battery is an FLA type battery (flooded), not an AGM. The size is Group99R/H4 T4. (edit: thanks @Johnkn ) As reported by many: the Maverick Hybrid electrical system does much better with an AGM in there. If you're looking for an OEM replacement Group99R/T4 battery online...
  19. 15.2v charging seems a bit high while driving

@scotty My original picture was taken with the battery enclosure/cargo bin under the seat removed (and I put it back in after replacing the battery). I recall it actually only took a few minutes to remove it. Open the rear doors, put up the rear bench seat, empty the storage bins on both...
  20. When to do 1st first oil change? 2024 XLT Hybrid

@ShadowBlack XL440 I use one of those oil containers under the truck where you really don't get to look at the drained oil. I've taken a few quick samples of the stream from the pan during later oil changes just to see and the oil from my hybrid always looks fine to me. I'd continue to argue...
