I would have chosen Rapid Red for model year 2022 of it weren’t First Edition exclusive. I wanted a loaded Lariat 2.0T AWD, but couldn’t combine First Edition and FX4. I also wasn’t sold on the black colored roof and preferred the hard trifold tonneau cover over the soft folding.
I’d personally classify it as a dark silver or medium-light gray. I think it’s lighter than the Magnetic color Ford recently used on something like a 2019 Ranger and other products. Notably darker than the Iconic Silver though. More on the lighter side than the online build and price tool...
My current 2019 Tacoma is a very similar color (Cavalry Blue) to Ford’s Area 51. It behaves the same exact way going from shade to direct sunlight. It looks really good on the Tacoma (the only thing I like about it right now. Not a good experience, but that’s for a different discussion)...
I originally chose Oxford White as a place holder, but changed the next day to Carbonized Gray as I wanted a metallic color. Should look pretty classy.
This is Carbonized Gray on a Bronco, in sunlight.
I’m not a big fan of the gunmetal color rims, I did however like the black color rims included with the FX4 package. I may switch back, but for now, I’ll keep my build current with the optional ones.
Looks great! I chose those optional rims on my Lariat FX4 build. Glad to see my thought of the brighter rims working well with the brighter grille bar (even though the one pictured is XLT) and the rim center playing nice with the Carbonized Gray color. I also wanted the slightly larger tires...
I feel sorry for you folks that need this thing right away because it's like watching the old "telephone" game from elementary school. :ROFLMAO:
I'll just be watching this entertainment until, most likely sometime in Q1 2022, when I'll probably see mine with the splash guards directly from the...
I wasn't touching the twist beam rear suspension with a 10-foot pole. However, that's just the enthusiast in me for preferring some engaged driving dynamics. I like a little, somewhat decent driving dynamics, and the multi-link rear of the AWD configuration should provide that edge for me, darn...
If that was Carbonized Gray and had the optional 17” wheels wrapped in the 235/65/R17 AT tires, molded front and rear splash guards and all-weather floor mats, this Lariat would be my spec build. Although, I didn’t spec any paint film protection. The tri-fold tonneau looks good, also glad I...
Wanted AWD and something that was still a little peppy around town. I am tired of driving my gutless 2019 Tacoma and having to wind it out just to keep up with the flow of traffic. It is such a dog, along with it's borderline Lemon Law status with all it's issues, but that's another discussion...
