I have my reasons for fully loaded Lariat configured with 2.0T/AWD/FX4/4K plus other options and packages. I don't need to get 40 MPG City, but I wanted favorable MPG. Favorable to me was 21-30 MPG. My current 2019 Tacoma truck is rated at 18/22/20, and I don't...
It’s all relative.
I was looking to spend around $45-48K on my next long term vehicle and that was me being “cheap”. So a fully loaded Maverick Lariat at about $38K was under budget by about $7-10K.
Probably and sounds plausible! 🤣
I only watched it once, but may have also included 10% tongue weight of a trailer weighing 5,000 lbs.
So that would put 4 adults at 150 lbs each.
Alex on Autos, on YouTube, recently did a first test drive review and reached out to Hyundai for clarification. That’s what was initially interpreted for their press release. It actually can handle all weight in the bed, sans driver, like any other truck’s payload. The 660 lbs was with 4 average...
Slightly better on Highway than I expected, but this is exactly the MPG I was seeking for a small 2.0T truck type product with my drive cycle. Glad to see the 2.0T AWD 4K Tow is that as well. Sounds good to me.
Haha! I saw that. I was wondering if someone was going to catch that. Glad someone had the energy to recall my comment and the response after posting of that 8-16 scheduling info. I agree, we will see. My theory will be tested next week I guess, but with that, it’s looking plausible.
I prefer the traditional pick-up profile design of of the Maverick. I see where its exterior styling could come across as bland to some though.
I do prefer the dual fuel injection of the Hyundai 2.5T, as well as the power numbers. They did well there.
Here's to hoping Ford will provide the...
Maverick's shortened development timeline came from a combination of different aspects. Utilizing an existing architecture that's already been in service, as well as, most arguably the most deciding factor being, removing a lot of Ford's red-tape at the management levels for approval rather than...
Well, then you should know first hand about this process, considering you were a manufacturing manager. Not sure why you are surprised. Then you go on to suggest maybe there is a regional component. Sounds like you may have answered your own question, but you should have already considered that...
Vehicles are typically produced in the most efficient method possible, for the manufacturer, not first-come, first-serve to the customer. This is especially true on a brand new product, on a brand new product line.
I am seeing a lot of arm-chair Industrial Process Engineers these days. Some...
Well, there ya have it.
Don't bother me any, I ordered front and rear splash guards and refused to take them off my order. If mine is received sometime in Q1 2022, I won't have to borrow any money from the credit union or Ford.
Edit: Schooled by another member below. Haha!
I'm of the opinion that Ford isn't going to schedule an entire month on one day. I think many interpreted it differently and got out of hand. The scheduling for October build weeks could include today, next week, week after, etc..., until they...
I'd expect between Bronco Sport 2.0 and Escape 2.0 AWD MPG estimates on the Maverick AWD 2.0 configuration. A little less aerodynamic than the Escape, but probably a tad better than Bronco Sport. Bronco Sport s equipped with the roof rails and stadium seating roof line, of which are not...
I'm glad I chose this color in the end! Just as I imagined it. This shade of gray is nice and the metallic properties really make it seem "soft" if that makes any sense! Haha! It's going to look great on my Lariat with FX4 and the optional wheels/ tires, oh, and the molded front and rear splash...
Fully loaded Lariat, similar to my build. Looks great.
Man, if I lived in FL or CA, beach life, I’d be all over that color! Haha!
Thanks for the quick walk around.
Nope. It shares with the Land Cruiser Prado, which is not sold in North American market, from what I recall. That’s why it doesn’t share production space at the Tacoma manufacturing facilities. I believe all current 4Runner’s are made in Japan.
Vehicle doesn’t appear to be running - RPM is zero. Ignition is not in Run position. All modern vehicles will display a few dash lights when key is in similar position for bulb test/ system check. Check Engine and Battery are a couple that will display in that manner and remain lit until started.
