I just tried to contact Granger and couldn’t get through so I called my local Ford dealer and he confirmed what Granger said. He said there are variables. If a person requests to buy an extended warranty within a month or so after the manufacturer warranty has expired, and the mileage is still...
I agree with everything you say and share your frustration. My comments and yours are in agreement regarding the start date of an extended warranty purchased during the manufacturer warranty beginning on the in service date of the vehicle. And we agree it can be s muddled mess.
My comments...
Extended warranties purchased during the manufacturer's warranty period begin on the day the vehicle was placed in service. Extended warranties purchased after the original warranty has expired begin the day the extended warranty is signed. These are considered warranties on used cars, will be...
My understanding is you can revise your current plan as long as your vehicle is still under the manufacturer warranty. Don’t know if they will give the dealer cost in that situation. Give Granger a call. They have actual people who answer the phone instead of menu options.
Like many others, I went with a 10 year Premium plan to cover all the electronics. I also added the Lights option after seeing how much it can cost to replace halogen bulbs and tailight assemblies. The cost to repair normal items on new vehicles is off the charts so I wanted to cover everything...
The Maverick’s unibody construction makes getting a really good seal at the bulkhead and front corners more difficult. Trucks usually have a separation between the cab and bed where water can run down between the two. The Maverick does not so all that run off has nowhere to go and gathers at the...
Below is a link for the weather stripping I used. I used the weather stripping that came with the cover for the bulkhead and then added weatherstripping just to the corners. The pads on the corners cause a break in the weather stripping and that allows some water in...
I have the same one from another dealer on eBay. Can’t beat it for the price. It does leak a bit at the front corners of the bulkhead but that was fixed with some extra weatherstripping and only took a few minutes. I posted this video on another thread but will post again here since it is the...
Yeah, I bet your leaks come in on the two front corners against the bulkhead. There are breaks in the insulation where the pads are and that’s where mine let some water come in. Took about 5 feet of weatherstripping and 15 minutes of fix.
Here is a link for those who are interested in a budget hard tri-fold. You can find it on Amazon or eBay but eBay has the better price. I purchased it and am happy with it. I did add some weatherstripping to the front corners and there is minimal leaking during rain, not enough to cause any...
You can buy an external keypad for the XL from the Ford Accessories website for $120 plus whatever your dealer charges for programming and installation. That could be another $100 to $250 depending. These are battery operated, not hardwired. A good but expensive option. If you haven’t received...
The aluminum used in tonneau’s in that price range will generally use thinner panels and I can tell you from experience that they can dent more easily than the more expensive ones. They are a good choice and a good value but you have to be a little careful with them, but there isn’t much you can...
$99 for full synthetic oil change, tire rotation, brake inspection and a short list of other inspections that take maybe 5 minutes. Flat rate. Can’t just get the oil change at a reduced price. They have an express lane but it still takes 45 minutes to an hour.
General question. My first priority is how well a cover prevents leakage. Realizing that no cover is waterproof, would it be safe to say that a soft one piece roll up provides better water protection than a tri-fold? Or a hard cover roll up? I have tried two hard cover tri folds and both have...
Consider eBay. Type Ford Maverick Canvas Tonneau Covers in the search field. They have good prices and good reviews from forum members. You will need to scroll down to the description of the listing to verify the material. Here is one just one example where they are accepting Make an Offer that...
Yes, when I did my test drive there was hardly any traffic and I changed lanes a couple of times without using my turn signal. It does not happen when the turn signal is on. Should have mentioned that in the post. But the drift I described had nothing to do with that. It was just the settings...
I realize you said this was a bare bones XL with no CP360 but what you are describing sounds exactly like the Lane Assist function. I have a XL EB with CP360. When I took it for a test drive on the freeway I noticed the steering wheel seemed very heavy and pulled against me when I changed lanes...
I wonder if replacing the Ford battery with a different brand is the solution. The Ford batteries with the deep sleep issues seem to have performed well for the first 6-12 months or so before the problems show up. Could it take the effects of the control module and parasitic draw that long...
We have a Maverick XL (mine) and a Subaru Outback (hers), which is very similar to the Forester. The Subaru Premium is around $6K more than the base Maverick but all Subarus come with AWD. That will set you back another $2K on the Mav so if that is important the difference is now around $4K...
