  1. The "Mass" Problem of EVs

To be clear, this isn't to hate on EVs but to show the things the industry have to take into account to ensure our roads stay safe. They had two options: make a stronger barrier or make lighter EVS. Buddy didn't provide video of a comperable ICE test. But that rail is designed to deflect...
  2. The "Mass" Problem of EVs

Note: This is meant to be educational, not to bash EVs. With EVs becoming more popular, especially with Ford's upcoming EV platform, vehicles will start to weigh more for their size. The video below was sent to me by a buddy who works at the Alabama Department of Transportation. It was provided...
  3. If you reordered your Maverick TODAY… what trim are you picking?

Same as my current one. Lariat. Though I might spring for the FX4 this time.
  4. Crappy entertainment system .

Not necessarily. While I cannot speak to the Maverick, I know my wife's Expedition infotainment wasn't working properly. I started and stopped the vehicle several times but it only really "restarted" and working correctly after I did the button push restart.
  5. Plum crazy Maverick? or Lime Light?

My dad had a Dodge Stratus in that color in the late 90s.
  6. Reverse Brake Assist Not Available

Sounds like a trip to the dealer. Wonder if a cable got loose or a fuse blew.
  7. 🚀 Giveaway Time: Wolfbox SmartSlide Electric Tonneau Cover! 🚀

2023 Atlas Blue Lariat 4K Ecoboost. I primarily haul scout and camping equipment. However, I have been using it a lot lately for gardening stuff. This is actually pretty timely as my soft cover is starting to not work properly.
  8. Maverick Sales Report: 14,196 in April 2026

Sales have been down for the entire industry. I think we are simply seeing a delayed reaction from the Covid demand. Most people have the vehicle they need and so the post-covid blitz has finally ebbed. I've always maintained it would take a decade for the industry to really recover and settle...
  9. Ford Midsize EV Truck News: Ford Skunkworks (EVDC) - first ever behind the scenes tour; sneak peek at EV pickup [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

If you routinely tow or haul large loads, live in a rural setting, work on a farm, or drive on long trips regularly, then don't buy this one. And frankly this isn't going to be marketed to you anyway. I've put 16,000 miles on my Maverick over three years and I have only one trip on record where...
  10. Ford Midsize EV Truck News: Ford Skunkworks (EVDC) - first ever behind the scenes tour; sneak peek at EV pickup [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Back on topic: There is a lot you can gleam from this image. Looks very much like a rounded off Maverick at this point.
  11. Ford Midsize EV Truck News: Ford Skunkworks (EVDC) - first ever behind the scenes tour; sneak peek at EV pickup [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

That is what it is called. Lockheed Martin coined the term for their advanced development. Basically, it's a division of R&D where no idea is stupid until it is proven it doesn't work. I'm glad Ford has one. Rather than languishing on old ideas, have a place where you can safely throw everything...
  12. Ford Midsize EV Truck News: Ford Skunkworks (EVDC) - first ever behind the scenes tour; sneak peek at EV pickup [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Chinese manufacturers don't have to deal with unions... or labor laws. I've reached the point in my life where I'm willing to pay a little more for an American-made product.
  13. Who still has their Maverick purchased new?

2023 Lariat 4K. 16,000 miles. Still runs great.
  14. Fully electric Maverick EV a possibility?

Second Gen Lightning (which will be EREV) will be a winner, IMO. Benefits of EV with the near infinite range of an ICE. On the topic of the thread: yes. Ford indicated that the first vehicle in their new EV range would be a Maverick-like truck. Plus, the USGS just announced that there is...
  15. Painted rear emblem.

    Interesting blackout effect.
  16. Review Maxzina soft glove box opener

For the four times a year I open it?
  17. Ford Midsize EV Pickup (Ranchero?) News & Info

They can stand around it with their arms on the bed. That at least makes it Maverick sized. I wonder if they will actually use the Ranchero name. I haven't seen it confirmed by anyone. I know Ford renewed the trademark, but companies will sometimes do that just to keep another company from...
