I used to go all the way to "III" (Start) but lately I try to just go quickly to "II" (Run) and release.

To find the version you are running open the app on your phone. Tap the little man symbol in the upper right corner. Scroll all the way to the bottom and it will show "FordPass v5.x.x" below "Log Out". There may be other ways but this works.

Did you try closing then re-opening the app? I think I had it reporting running once when it wasn't and that cleared it up. It is just a computer after all.
