I happen to LIKE having an electric locking tailgate. Never had one on my previous trucks.
Yes, when pulling up the Maverick after a Cosco run....I have to unlock the truck by touching door handles or inputting code on the ( wonderful factory installed ) keypad.
Would a button on the...
Not to indicate there isn't anything wrong.
But brakes.....just don't NOT work on a new vehicle. They may not seem to stop the vehicle, they may not feel right ( abs kicking in for instance). But brakes ARE mechanical and if you push on the foot pedal it will push fluid into the calipers to...
Frontal area as Ford determines it is area of trailer....minus frontal area of Maverick. So, what the trailer ADDS to frontal area is the important part.
Even that is ambiguous. An "aerodynamic" front on a trailer will have a very positive effect on how much drag it has at speed.....
Frontal...
I have heard of this happening with XL and XLT Mavericks. Disconnect the battery under the rear seat for a few minutes. Some wait 10 minutes, not sure if it takes that long. Then reconnect battery and most of the time it will fix the neutral tow issue. For that occurrence.
Regardless, adding a...
Yes, the Maverick accessory 12v power ports will turn off after some time.
So, to run a battery powered braking system, installing a dedicated 12v power outlet JUST FOR the Brake Buddy or similar system is the only way to solve the issue. It can be hooked to the charge post under the hood (...
Do you have a battery charge cable hooked up from the RV to the Maverick?
If not, I believe this is absolutely crucial to flat towing a Maverick!
Your issue is just one reason why, as it may keep it from actuating neutral tow if battery voltage is not where it needs to be.
What is NOT mentioned here is the Mavericks 4K tow package 8,000 Gross Combined Weight Rating.
This is the TOTAL weight of Maverick, trailer, occupants, all gear in both vehicles.
Your Maverick weighs about 3900-4000 lbs. That leaves about 4000 lbs for all cargo, trailer weight, and...
The Maverick Hybrid has horsepower to spare as far as pulling a load. Not the issue.
Drivetrain limitations are the issue. The Hybrid transmission package is not designed to handle heavy loading. Overheating, component failure are what can happen. Overheating may not show damage at first, but...
I ran a Patriot braking system for years. Cmax and Wrangler. In the Wrangler is was no issue, in the Cmax it was always in the way when trying to "exercise" the Cmax at rest or fuel stops.
Sounds like your Patriot may be disengaging the seat when it pushes against the manual lever. The Patriot...
You can get adapters to make your towbar fit the Demco base plate. They replace the ends on your towbar set up. Easy to install. Some are not cheap, but neither is a tow bar.
As I understand it, the Demco uses the same pattern as a Blue Ox does.
The Roadmaster base plate is safe and works just fine.
BUT...even though I have already had a Blue Ox base plate on my Maverick, which failed in use and had to be removed, I did install the Roadmaster base plate next. Works just fine but it requires excessive cutting of parts of the grill...
I was not aware Falcon was offering a base plate for the Maverick?
Do NOT buy a Blue Ox base plate!!! Two on this forum alone have had them fail in hard braking on the highway!
The Maverick 12v outlet does not stay hot. And it does not like to have a drain on the battery when flat towing...
Those are Blue Ox base plate tabs extending through the very much hacked up front fascia. Yes, that Maverick likely has a lot more actual miles on it than odometer shows as flat towing behind an rv does NOT add miles to the odometer.
BLUE OX baseplates on Mavericks are unsafe to use! I and at...
23 Lariat delivered last August. Exceeded my expectations for interior quality, quiet at road speed, seats quite comfortable, drives, handles, and rides better than most small trucks.
No electrical problems...aside from the passenger door has been quirky about unlocking with just a touch (...
I have removed all the PITA wheel locks on my vehicles. Anyone that thinks they are secure has not seen a tool in action made to remove stripped nuts engage one of these "security locks".
My post was meant to declare that when you hook up to tow.....there is NOTHING to do with braking that you have to do INSIDE the cab!
While you DO have to hook up the cable(s) when installing the tow base plate and lamp wiring, once done with that there is NO easier hook up that I have towed with!
Oil analysis ( sending off a sample of your oil to a laboratory for testing ) is not as much about how good your oil is.....as it is to show the condition of your engine! THAT is where the money spent on testing is justified. As I have said before...buy (any) good oil and your engine will not...
Blackstone Labs for oil analysis tests. About $40. They will mail you a free sample kit.
Any opinions that do not have an oil analysis attached are just opinions.
I fully believe you can go 250,000 miles with 25K oil changes...with any good oil. Certain vehicles are better set up to do that (...
