We drive the hybrid truck in normal mode. So as soon as the truck starts going down a decline, its all electric without any braking and the meter thing on the left shows battery charging.
We travel to mountain areas a lot. When going down hills, if you have the Hybrid, its charging of the battery. If its a long enough hill or decline, when the battery is at full, you feel the resistance stop and all of sudden you are in need of using the break. First time that happened was a...
I drive a 23 xlt hybrid. I noticed when it is cold, while stopped at lights, the car feels like it is trying to move forward with a repeated jerking. This just started this past month. I have 36,000 on the truck.
What I noticed is that both the ice engine and electric motor are working at the same time. Its crazy, I know. I am not an engineer but that is how it turned out. I did not expect that at all.
The trip starts in michigan and ends in north eastern Kentucky. So relatively flat to mountainous hilly freeways once we hit lower ohio. Eco has never been good in any experiements I have done since Feb 2023. Not sure why it is even an option for the hybrid. Our 2022 Bronco does well with eco on...
I noticed that the truck in sport mode on the freeway for long trips uses both the ice and electric motors together. Averaged about 48 and above mpg.
I take the same long 500 + mile multi state drive multiple times a year. I tested the mileage driving in normal the first time 500+ there and...
I am happy to say, from March thru to December I get about 51 to 52 MPG consistantly. Sometimes it gets to be so long between fillups, I forget to look at gas gauge. Then the 50 miles left warning pops up. From December till it starts thawing in Michigan I average 47 to 48 MPG. Love this Truck!
I was amazed to see how the maverick outsold the ranger by a huge amount. The price of the maverick "was" its best selling advantage. Wonder if 2025 with price increase will putthe ranger and maverick more even.
It bothers me that critical functions like brakes, acceleration, transmition, and steering are all computer controled now. Steering wheel is no different then a joystick on a game controler as well as the rest I listed above. Those functions should remian mechanical. Too many things can go wrong...
I have a 23 hybrid. Turning off daytime headlights. using sport mode on the freeway, drive in normal on city streets, use haul when hauling. I also use premium gas from costco. Tried 87 once and the truck ran really rough. I average 50 to 57 city and 48 mpg freeway. Freeway road trip thourgh...
I am laughing. Before I picked up a little foldable 2 step, I was sitting on the tailgate and swinging my legs over and rolling into a stand up position. So graceful!
The push button start really really concerns me. I don't know about you, but I can see very young kids even preschoolers pushing the button while the parent is unloading groceries. I can picture it. The key is in their pocket or worse fell out and slide under side of the seat. Its in such an...
Completely agree. The price of a the hybrid truck when the Maverick first hit the market was the only reason I placed an order back in 2021. I loved the cafeteria style ordering as well. I could pick and chose my options and wasn't stuck paying for what I know I wouldn't use. I don't need a...
I have a 2023 xlt as well. I have a hybrid and was looking into the awd hybrid because of these michigan winters. I am still on the fence about ungrading
I agree. The loss of actual button presses is huge for me. Once I get to know a car, I can make changes without taking my eyes off the road. Biggest loss is being able to change from driving in normal mode and switching to sport at the last light before the freeway. Screens are nice but really...
We pulled the blue console trays out and they were a stiffer material and appeared to be painted over black. Maybe they are just the mannequin model inserts. I like the rubbery ones in the early models; cuts down on noise from the mini tools I use in my trade that I often have placed in there on...
Traction control. The other buttons like hill assist "the button with hand" that I use when I am stopped on a hill is located in that row of buttons on upper console area.
