The Escape was a decent vehicle when introduced but now is a bad laggard in its class. Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, Nissan all superior. Subaru not direct competitor but definitely attracts similar drivers. Escapes are poor by comparison.
Good post. I have a question: I would like to be able to randomly tell my Mav to play a certain song. Any song, any time. Like Alexa. Can I set this up and if so how? I’m definitely willing to pay. Thanks.
I’m in Maine and with pretty aggressive snow tires my mileage has gone from
42-46 to about 36 mpg this early winter. I have been doing more highway driving though. This is still way better than my last truck, a Frontier
Great review. I’ve owned a bunch of pickups in my 64 years, so I rate my 2024 Maverick Lariat hybrid comparatively. My 2017 Nissan Frontier had cabin noise issues that sounded like poor fit quality, got 18-19 mpg, had a major manifold weld issue at 35,000 miles that was barely covered by...
Terrific review! Seriously! I have a 2024 much like yours and this is reassuring.
I like mine too. I did get the dealer to upgrade to an AGM battery for free, but if I get more battery-saver or deep sleep emails, I'm also not sure how much I will worry about them. I can always drive it...
I find these posts very informative. I recently had my factory 12v replaced by an agm 12v for free. My truck was built in October 2024, though I bought it new March 2025. It always started but I had several deep sleep and battery saver warnings. Daily driver, though admittedly mostly local...
2024 Mav Lariat Hybrid, purchased March 2025, built October 2024. I've been getting the typical deep sleep and battery saver alerts that I've read many posts about, despite the fact that I am a daily driver who averages 1,000 miles a month. Took it to the dealer and -- pretty good news -- got an...
I’m much older and for 20 years or longer, for myself and my wife, I’ve bought new cars that are leftovers. My 2024 Maverick was purchased in March 2025, new. It wasn’t with the nearest dealer but was only a state away. I received a $1,000 Ford discount and two $500 dealer discounts, plus got a...
I tried 'em all but have settled into normal with my hybrid. I'm getting 46-48 local. I'm thrilled. So for me, and I'm not saying this for anyone else, I don't mess with it.
I got cactus grey because it was a leftover 24, hybrid with the options I wanted. Desert sand was my first choice, cactus grey second and eruption green third. Must say, the gray doesn’t show dirt or film. I’ve also had several compliments on the color.
It's hard to believe that Ram, Toyota -- some manufacturer -- hasn't even tried to compete. They all sell small trucks overseas. A Rampage hybrid would definitely attract me -- in 6-7 years.
Congratulations. Desert sand was my No. 2 choice. I have Cactus Grey as you can see. I like mine, plan on trading it around 90,000 miles -- probably for Desert Sand.
