Sounds like a lemon. I have a 2024 hybrid Lariat that had the ever popular battery warnings. For now, a free Ford AGM has solved that but if I start anything near your experiences, I’d move on. There is no way we should buy a new vehicle and live with jump packs and routine unreliability. I’d...
All relative. Compared to my 2017 Nissan Frontier, the Maverick ride is really quiet. No rattles. Gas mileage two times better, and more in the summer. The much-posted-about battery messages are new, but relatively simple to monitor.
That’s what I got too, about four months ago. Posters here say it’ll work 18-30 months and the messages will reemerge. They’re probably right. I’ll address it then. You can tell a dealer shop all about underlying issues but if they give you a free battery upgrade and look at you, you kind of...
Simple: If you don’t tow something substantial, often, there is no better value than a Maverick. Not when you combine price, gas mileage and, as posted previously, buy a new close out Maverick that’s been on a lot for several months.
Great post. When I bought mine -- same year and model -- I was headed for the XLT, because every review said that model offered the best "value." I took my daughter to sit in one, then we sat in a Lariat. She was 24; I was 63. She said, "Dad: You don't have many cars left. You need the stuff in...
I would consider a small hybrid Ram, Toyota or anything non-GM truck in the future — if they watch the price point, which is unlikely. Mavericks to me feel truck like, whereas the Santa Cruz did not. I also agree on the gas mileage point.
I live in Maine, with a 2024 FWD Lariat hybrid. I am riding on a new set of Toyo Observe winter tread tires. I buy value tires. Not the cheapest, but I look for value and with winter tires, deep tread. I've had negative experience with top-of-the-line, pricier ones (I'm 64, plenty of vehicles...
Love the tech upgrades over my 2017 Frontier. I've hooked up Spotify via Apple Car Play so now, voice command, I can play any song I can imagine, just by saying it. I'm 64 so if this is old hat to some of you, it's mind blowing to me.
Like many of you, I was getting regular battery saver and deep sleep warnings on my 2024 Lariat hybrid, despite driving about 1,000 miles a month. My dealer said the factory battery had a bad cell, and three months ago replaced it with a new AGM Ford battery at no charge.
We left it at a Maine...
You didn't ask me, but I'm 64 and have owned and driven dozens of cars. It's unprecedented in my experience to get warnings about your battery, whether it's "battery saver" or "deep sleep," which is more jarring. The deep sleep message includes verbage to drive the thing soon, or it won't start...
I have a 2024 Lariat hybrid purchased new in March 2025. Battery saver warnings and one deep sleep one yielded me a Ford AGM under warranty, no cost. Dealer said the factory battery had a dead cell. No problems since, but I wouldn't be surprised if it resurfaces. We're vacationing for a week...
As you all may understand, dealers are not supposed to be like that. It used to be common decades ago but manufacturers and smart dealers learned that helping car owners like you in a highly positive manner increases the chance you’ll return for more lucrative, non-warranty work and even buy...
They've been posting "Dakota comeback" stuff for at least 10 years. I'll believe it when I see it. The problem with the Ranger and probably the Dakota is they're priced so high, they bump into the lower-end models of the F150 and full-sized Ram. That's why the Dakota went away. That, plus an...
