Starting from the TFL MAX out of the hybrid and continuing, the Maverick is looking like one of those classic achievements of engineering and design that change the industry. Sort of like the 1965 Mustang.
Have made three Maverick sightings in the wild- all Oxford White.
Now I am pretty sure it’s t one guy who drives around a lot.
NO Santa Cruz sightings.
I am underwhelmed by the looks...but the load bed features attract me.
Really like the in bed trunk. And the corner bed steps. (Great for old people-like me and the missus!) Plus no start/stop!
I have been reading the SC forum closely and there are issues cropping up with the safety features...
I like the low load height of the Maverick...itmakes getting things up ramps easier!
As for Max payload...I am sure manufacturers leave a safety margin in their published limits.
of course, we don’t know what that is...as one who has been torn between the Maverick and the SC-I have been...
I like the idea. But I wonder...are they easily removable? I mean could someone in a parking lot just reach in and take off with all your goodies neatly packaged for them?
Also, which side do you think would work better? I am thinking the drivers side...
After that TFL video with the hybrid Maverick, overloaded and hauling wood out of the mountains...I do not doubt it has truck DNA.
In fact, I have seen full size half tons with less payload capacity. And a lot of superfluous metal. Like bedsides that make the bed unusable.
Yes...I remember my delight at driving my first FWD car through its first snow.
BUT AWD, or traditional 4 wheel drive is still much better. Once you have driven with all four wheels getting power-you don't want to go back....
Great video! I have had to cross the SC off my list-the seats just don't work with my bad back...so I am looking harder than ever at the Mav...
BTW...I wonder if the Lariat would have been quieter?
Gee..thanks folks. My hope is the Maverick seat's configuration works with my back issues. I really want a small truck to replace my 2006 ranger yardtruck and wifey's GMC Terrain with the roofline that makes getting in a kind of torture...
I notice the Lariate has Activex but the XLT lux package does not. Both are 8 way power driver's seats though. So...what is the difference?
Has anyone tried both?
BTW, finally crossed the Santa Cruz off my list...the drivers seat gave me the dreaded "electrical" feeling in both calfs. Seat...
Some folks here are buying their first truck .
You won’t be sorry. When I got my first pickup years ago-I quickly discovered the delicious freedom of just tossing stuff in the bed without worrying about the trunk carpets. Or God forbid..some kerosene drips on it.
When I take yard waste to the...
Reading all the reasons people give...Ford really had a great idea.
Now if there just are no hidden gremlins.
I just did a hybrid Lariat on the configuraor. Like $30k with delivery charge.
What’s the average OTD F150 price today? Maybe $48-50k?
And most owners hardly use the load bed...
