  1. OE front speaker adapter to Kicker 6.5" speakers.

Did you get the STL file for this? I'm assuming you used PETG for heat tolerance?
  2. Cut a hole under 2.0 engine shield for oil change accessibility?

No, sorry I'm sorting through other projects first. My 2010 Camaro started acting up and I've been having print quality issues with PETG prints for my drone project (adding Remote ID for FAA compliance). It's not serious, I'm just new to 3D printing and have too many things going wrong at...
  3. Want to install a slim subwoofer behind the rear seats. Am I missing anything?

Agree. I just started making my own FPV drones, where you're soldering 4 motors, a camera and video transmitter onto a board 30mm by 30mm. I had to step up my soldering game. Fortunately, I had a dad who was an avionics mechanic for 50 years, and he taught me how to solder as a child. I will...
  4. Want to install a slim subwoofer behind the rear seats. Am I missing anything?

Yes, those are the best quality. I always "yank" the wire to make sure my crimp is solid, as well as paying attention to where the seam is on the connector (I don't expect 99% to care about this). The heat shrink style has 2 additional advantages: keeps debris/moisture out which reduces...
  5. Want to install a slim subwoofer behind the rear seats. Am I missing anything?

Ah yeah, I'm from that era. My first system was an Alpine pull out head, to an Alpine 40 X2 for rear deck 4x6", to a Precision Power fed pair of Rockford Forsgate 12" subs. Later added Alpine 6-way cross over, Audio Control 1/3 octave EQL, and some more PPI amps. Next car had MB Quarts, and...
  6. Want to install a slim subwoofer behind the rear seats. Am I missing anything?

I can't disagree with either of those trains of thought, and in come cases it depends on the practicality. Most people aren't going to have crimpers that will crimp a 4 gauge wire correctly, like a starter wire, but an 18AWG wire is easy. I've probably installed 300-400 systems easily, and I...
  7. Want to install a slim subwoofer behind the rear seats. Am I missing anything?

As a former professional car stereo installer who spent a lot of time re-working installations from prior installations of other installers... I'd disagree with the statement twisting and taping in a car environment is better than solder. Professionals will use crimp connections or solder...
  8. Ham radio set up

I'm still trying to just f igure out how to use my mobile HAM radios. I have the programming software, etc. Aced my Technician test (100%) and bought the study manual for General. I don't know how to figure out the offsets, etc, and not even sure there's a tower within range of my 1 watt...
  9. 2023 XLT Lux - Bought @ Long McArthur Ford

Wow, and I thought my Mav had a ton of miles not on the odometer. I used the Trans union phone number I found on this forum, and the day after it was built it showed it was on rail in the US. By the 4-5th days it was on its way across Kansas, and the railway literally went through Salinas...
  10. 2023 XLT Lux - Bought @ Long McArthur Ford

I was thinking of hedging my bets and ordering a 2024 with AutoNation as I read an old thread saying they were MSRP, but they wouldn't do it. Ford McArthur Long rolled my 2024 over with the same order number, so they would take out of state but only rollovers I'm assuming. I know he had more...
  11. 2023 XLT Lux - Bought @ Long McArthur Ford

We've had just one car, a 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS, for awhile now. Decided it was time for a 2nd vehicle for the wife to drive. After looking at the options, the 2023 Ford Maverick looked like the best fit. I've spent a few thousand dollars renting trucks for moving, house projects, etc, so a...
  12. 3D Printed Tailgate Hole Caps

ABS and PETG are going to hold up to heat better. I 3D printer a 90 mount for a ring camera and it's been subjected up to 110F outside and held up. No change in color, or discoloration so far. PLA will likely warp in your car. So it might be good for stuff inside and around the house...
  13. 3D Printed Tailgate Hole Caps

Agree. If you remove PETG too quickly it creates problems. I just let the print finish and find other things to do. I usually set my bed around 70 C and spray the bed with hairspray (SV06 is a bed slinger, so the bed moves back and forth while the print nozzle stays in place). When I come...
  14. Gromets

You got it to work? I'll have to try again. I tried once before but it was having issues installing, so I spun up a Ubuntu VM, loaded Cura and it worked. I have to run Ubuntu anyway for BetaFlight (software to program flight modules on drones). Now I just have to start learning better...
  15. Gromets

For anyone reading this, and considering buying a 3D printer, I am somewhat active in FPV drone forums, and the model suggested to me was the Sovol SV06. It's considered an easy to use, beginner friendly model. I use a Mac so the only slightly inconvenient part is I have to spin up a Ubuntu VM...
  16. Oil-O-Meter...says %51...and the miles on truck are 4100...change oil when it says?? what?

For those "just following the on-board oil life meter," keep in mind there's a high chance the monitor is for AFTER initial break in period. Any brand new engine is going to have extra "debris" and be considered the break in period. One person mentioned smaller amount of oil, and that's to be...
  17. 3D Printed Tailgate Hole Caps

Keep posting the 3D printed related stuff. I definitely appreciate it. I have black, "clear" and purple PETG filament for my Sovol SV06. I'm always looking for things I can make myself.
  18. Cut a hole under 2.0 engine shield for oil change accessibility?

Just got my 2023 Maverick last week. I'll print those covers with my 3D printer and cut the holes. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5979898
  19. Changing your own oil - 2.5L hybrid

WOW! Thanks for finding this and reposting it. I have a Sovol SV06 3D printer and a few rolls of PETG since I print stuff for my FPV drones and stuff around the house. I really like the time and detail the guy put into this, such as the oil symbol, the lock/unlock text, etc.
  20. Tacking Ferrocaril Mexicano Rail Car- Anyone know how I can do that?

I followed the instructions today, but changed the equipment to the Mexican rail. Call -800-635-5768 At the first prompt press 2 At the second prompt press 2 When it ask for the Railcar identification press 8849# (for TTGX) When asked for the Railcar number press xxxxxxxx# (the rail car...
