  1. Install hitch, dealer or uhaul

The Uhaul hitch hangs down lower than you would expect - enough to cause issues. The factory hitch sits a lot higher, as it inserts into the "frame". However, it requires a 5-hour remove-everything-back-of-the-axle job on a hoist, along with a bunch of now-broken pushpins to replace. Both do...
  2. Boost

Why would it not invalidate warranty? Those parts are going to see much more torque than they would with the factory tune, and they are pretty marginal at the already high torque coming out of the 2.0 engine. If you want more torque than what is already enough to spin the rubber at highway...
  3. Boost

That's a joke, right? Doing what you want to do invalidates any possible use of warranty on the whole drivetrain, not just the engine.
  4. Hauling plywood experience

That's not a standard size for MDF. Who makes that 1" wider and 1" longer than standard? Standard sizes are 4x8 and 6x10. They also use 122mm width in Europe, which is just a hair larger than the American standard 4' width. Your funny size will not fit properly in a lot of trucks.
  5. Service Manual available

LOL. Backwards Microsoft still has not figured out how to do things properly. Use Linux and just mount the iso file. No CD-ROM reader required.
  6. Maverick Hybrid recovery points, what to do when stuck?

Don't get the pictured R-hooks built for F150 oval holes, as they will not fit the round holes in the Maverick. Either use small J-hooks or soft shackes like https://superslings.ca/products/soft-shackles to get hooked up.
  7. What tires should I get, for better traction at boat ramp

Its FWD, so its not the best on a greasy ramp. You should probably think about swapping upwards for a more expensive AWD Escape hybrid. Maybe you could try 3-peak ice tires for much better grip on hard and slippery surfaces, but be aware that they will wear like crazy in higher temperatures...
  8. Canada Price Protection Rollover Orders

Mine too, except that I still do not have a build schedule or VIN. I ordered the same truck as you way back in February, and was the first one in the line at the dealer to rollover on July 17th. Ford Canada never gave the dealers the information required to do a rollover correctly, so I...
  9. Conti CrossContact LX Tire Recall

FYI, Anyone who replaced their factory shoes with CrossContact LX rubber should be made aware that some of them have been recalled by Transport Canada due to possible instant decompression caused by contamination resulting in sidewall failure. I guess this is why you should make sure that you...
  10. Low MPG displayed on short trips in Hybrid

The feds state that it takes roughly 1/2gal of fuel to warm up an engine to the point where the cat converter is operating properly, so if you're going to get horrible mileage on really short trips in any gas-operated vehicle from any manufacturer. If your trips are that short, walk.
  11. Traction Control on Hybrid…Does it effect mileage when it’s on?

Since TC uses the brakes, obviously it will, but probably not very much. Pushing through snow is likely to have much more effect.
  12. Blind Spot Detection System

Set your mirrors up correctly, and there is no blind spot. You should not be able to see the side of your vehicle without leaning way over.
  13. Will Escape wheels fit my Maverick?

I think the bolt circle changed on the Escape and a lot of other Fords to 5x108 in 2017. So they will only fit if they are from a 2017-up escape and are not the 16-inch ones from the low-end model.
  14. FX4 skid plate

Take it to the parts dept at your dealer, explaining exactly where it came from on their exploded assembly drawing. They will figure out what the number is, whether it has been superseded by a different number, and have it in stock.
  15. How high of a lift should I get and what tire size for off-road? 2023 FX4

No lift. Maybe put 2 sizes bigger tires on, and don't do anything off a farm track. The vehicle is just not designed for offroading. Lifting it changes the loads and angles on the suspension and especially the halfshafts. The Tremor model with the one inch lift uses stronger halfshafts and...
  16. Back Seat Delete for Milwaukee Packouts

You bought a Lariat and then rip out the seats? Why not just get an XL for a lot less money? The XL is much more suitable for contractor use.
  17. Has anyone successfully installed the Power Inverter outlet + light panel from Lariat to an XLT or XL?

The XLT Lux package includes the bed socket and the light. You can't run any tools with it, but its enough to put Christmas lights on your truck.
  18. Bye Bye Maverick, Farewell MTC

I too had a Datsun. Great vehicle for 2 years, but it rusted away faster than you would believe possible.
  19. Bye Bye Maverick, Farewell MTC

The Mav is within an inch or two of the 70's F100 in length, width and height. Anything bigger is just compensating for things like poor bed design or the driver having too small of a package.
