I'm in Roanoke. I took delivery on Feb 1 from Berglund Ford in Salem Virginia. I learned I was the first hybrid they got and overall, I am quite happy. Not too many Mavericks out this way, I have seen a few. I was really impressed with the dealership and salesman - completely transparent, fair...
I just completed this, except for the eye bolts which I should receive on Saturday. I used the half depth struts instead of the square type in the video. M9 screws work for the bed itself. The hardest part was cutting the struts but it is very solid once installed.
I took delivery of my Hybrid Maverick this past Tuesday, seven months and a day after order confirmation. I installed a BedRug yesterday and I did the DIY bed rail installation today, but I am waiting for the eye bolts to come in the mail. This is like getting a Lego set. Lots to try and do.
The Ford Tracker informed me my truck arrived at the dealer yesterday, so I drove by early to see if I could find it. It was the only Maverick on the lot and the VIN is right. Now, I just have to wait a bit, I guess. It's been seven months to the day. This is like carrying a child to term.
I said, "Shipped!!! So close!!!" but the delivery window has been delayed by a week and there seems to be no information at all. I don't think that means it is lost, but I can't be sure.
I hate to read this stuff. I entered the delivery window today, 1/15, and I just have a generally bad feeling there is something wrong. I wouldn't mind so much if my current vehicle weren't up for registration renewal.
Kudos, first off. Then I will say that this will just get me killed as I look at it and try to visualize a map of my location in my mind to confirm it...crash! I just blindly trust the woman in my phone.
One of the wondrous things about being human is you can hold more than one thing in your mind at a time. Yes, wildfires are awful. Yes, tornadoes and COVID and syphilis and creeping fascism and let us not forget the poor tardigrades being quantum entangled. Poor things. But with all that stuff...
Slightly related: I know many of you are old enough to remember the days when no one walked around with a constant source of hydration. I remember playing in the sun for hours, gulping warm water out of a neighbor's hose and going right back to playing. Somehow I survived without a jug of water...
There was a sizable lag between built and shipped for me as well. But it did ship although I still do not have the vehicle. Try to be patient. The tracking is not real time, after all.
Reminds me of how some workplaces put nonworking thermostats in offices. They don't do anything but the workers feel better adjusting them. We might open up the drive mode panel and find them all wired to the same place.
My dealer told me my xlt was in Illinois a few days ago, but I assumed that meant the train was going through there. He was quick to say it would arrive before the projected delivery date.
I have the gray coming. You know what my concern of the moment is? How sometimes I am driving and I just don't see an oncoming vehicle because it is the same color as the asphalt. I could totally see this being a problem.
I like the poor man's method: Take a shoe off and put it in the back seat when you have a child in a car seat there. I guess this works until you are driving barefoot.
