  1. Very low speed braking anomalies

I've had exactly the same experience right down to thinking I had hit something slowly entering a parking spot. Come on, Ford. Figure this out already.
  2. Have you had a good experience with your dealer?

I bought my hybrid from Berglund Ford in Salem, VA. Completely transparent from the beginning and it all went well. They were really cool dealing with a minor service issue earlier and I hope for the same with this fuel vapor recall.
  3. How is the visibility?

I'm 5'11" and I have bumped my head a few times. I might be an idiot. No. Am. Anyway, visibility has otherwise been good. There is a touchy off ramp where I live that gives you microseconds to see existing traffic. I nearly hit, wait for it, the only other hybrid Mav I have seen in town so far...
  4. Maverick vs. The Economy [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

This entire thread might age like milk, but I sure hope not. Economies rise and fall but a collapse will make this thread look like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I will point out that we are at a completely unprecedented point on economic curves we have known so far. It seems bound to...
  5. Please, please consider securing your load responsibly.

Unpopular opinion, but I admire the ingenuity. I can see a guy looking at the U-Haul and the SUV and kinda sizing them up. "Yeah....that'll work." Beside all that, the person was apparently driving around for days being seen before someone called the police. It WAS working.
  6. 500 Mile XL Hybrid Review

I recently did a mountain road trip with hairpin turns and some fast straightaways. I put it in Sport and was surprised how responsive and zippy my hybrid became. I hated to go back to ECO.
  7. That awkward cubbie next to the infotainment screen

    Little Ganesha is my navigator.
  8. Interior rearview mirror restricting forward visibility

A couple of years ago I rented a Tacoma while on a trip and positively hated the mirror being right in my vision, and I was worried the Mav mirror would be the same. But it never bothered me one bit. It doesn't seem to be in the way like that Tacoma. These sort of issues are such first world...
  9. Showing off the Maverick to random interested folks.

I've had maybe a half dozen interactions so far. It's quite different when the person knows nothing about the Maverick and when they know a lot.
  10. Maverick with Flag

I agree. I never really know what I am supposed to infer from this sort of stuff.
  11. What did you do with your previous vehicle

My dealer offered exactly what Carvana (or CarMax?) offered, so I said "Kewl!! Bye, old car!" I got a check for the full amount at a bank five minutes up the road and drove my new Mav away. Easy as could be.
  12. What is this?

I haven't used mine for much but now I'm thinking a small Zen garden would be nice. Sand, a little rake, Buddha figure. Ahhh.
  13. Magic City Ford, Roanoke VA (Newest Scumbag Dealer)

The difference here is that this is not OP picking up an order, it's getting a call that someone walked on theirs and it was open for purchase. Why anyone here thinks dealers are obliged to sell them at MSRP no matter what is beyond me.
  14. XLT vs XL seats

I wasn't aware they were different.
  15. Magic City Ford, Roanoke VA (Newest Scumbag Dealer)

I bought mine from Berglund in Salem (attached to Roanoke for people not familiar with the area.) I got treated very well there so you might consider them. Funny coincidence: I just stopped and talked to a guy with a nearly identical Mav that he ordered at Magic City and got for MSRP like I did...
  16. I may have found a design problem

Take the Maverick Back Seat Underwear Change Challenge!
  17. Make your own Maverick bed tie-downs: DIY bed side rail tutorial by Ford

It's funny how I see unistrut sticking out of dumpsters all over the place until I want some. Anyway, it's solid and looks pretty clean.
  18. I may have found a design problem

This is the way. Your comment made me think about how the doors have a lot of customizable potential. I also have not put a water bottle in mine mostly because I am not all that thirsty, but there are plenty of things I would store there. [Thinking cap donned]
  19. Power Moonroof Option

Sometimes even cracking the windows sets up a ridiculous cross breeze, noise, hair destroyer environment. (I have no appreciable hair...but the wife does.) The moon roof is a nice option. You will not regret getting it. All this silly hand wringing about drainage tubes and stuff. Forget it.
  20. Went in for service today

"Sorry, your Maverick is going to be delayed due to...constraints." [heh heh].
