My simple monitoring of the 12v battery charge by testing at the power points under the hood doesn't do any real good. Friday, my battery failed the Ford test at the dealer, battery replaced.
24 hours later, the indicated voltage at the underhood connections was 11.43v, actually worse than...
Voltmeter on the contacts under the hood. Turn the truck on and the voltage shown jumps up to normal charging of 14+volts but battery will degrade to below 12v in less than 2 hours.
Update: Didn't get a deep sleep message but battery voltage at the underhood points shows 11.93v after two days...
Same here. Last year it was occasional, this year was similar until I had the batch of recalls and the customer satisfaction update for infotainment done and the problem disappeared. I had no issues all summer until the last month when temperatures finally started to fall and it became an almost...
Yup, old and continuing problem, no matter the year. My '23 did that BS last year and at the start of my Maverick driving season in May of this year. Had a bunch of recalls done in early summer, and the sleep problem went away, until just last week as the weather gets cooler. Three times in ten...
While not recommending which direction you should go, you are already familiar with a vehicle that has rather limited power and an AWD system. While they are apples and oranges, the hp and torque figures sort of complicate the process. More is generally more satisfying, but it really boils down...
Yah, I had what I called a machine gun sound last summer shortly after getting my '23 Lariat. This seems to be primarily a B&O system issue and it also shows up online for F150's. Mine only did it the one time and has never repeated.
Interesting video but all things are relative. Even the most lowly of of our vehicles we expect engines to go hundreds of thousands of miles, and lots of them do. I certainly don't dispute the science part of this video, but what do the numbers mean in actual long term use? The only reason I...
To echo the others, I wish I had back to back Db readings but I do not. The sound level seems to be reduced some, but my Lariat is already pretty good. Honestly I wasn't paying very close attention but I did notice when I first turned on the ignition and the a/c compressor started by itself, it...
Does it bother anyone that this vehicle, and many others from various brands, actually have turn signals that are arrowheads or actual arrow shapes pointing the wrong direction? This certainly isn't a handsome front view but the almost deliberately misleading turn signals really bugs me :(...
The only way to determine how accurate YOUR gauge and estimates are is to drive it and refill the tank at various points. Keep a record, at least for a while, and hand calculate. I find the total of miles driven plus left to go, added together, is somewhat more accurate than the stated MPG, but...
In Wisconsin you get an "EV" sticker for your hybrid license plate, front and rear. Supposed to be for emergency personnel to be aware of hi voltage battery. It has the added benefit of letting everyone know you paid double for your plate as well :(
This is a subject I have wondered about for the last couple of years: why does the tailgate need a shock? It seems obvious to me that if you owned the previous generation of Ranger, with a tailgate 2/3 as tall, and double the weight, the Maverick would be a breeze. I admit I do not understand...
No regrets at all. It was purchased as a summer only traveling vehicle. I have an old 4X4 Ranger and Subaru Forester for winter. We all used to have "winter beaters" around here, and I have a couple of really good ones. Just can't see beating up a new vehicle if you don't have to.
I would agree about the relative brightness of the stock Lariat DLR, so, point taken. I am guessing the word "now" is supposed to be "not" in the second last sentence?
Late in the thread but is it largely unfocused light that is broadcast by the white turn signal modification? It sure looks like it in the photo of the beam pattern. I notice when my standard turn signals are on, that signs and other reflective materials definitely light up in time with the...
My 23 Lariat Hybrid had two recalls and some major software update done just last month and it has been rock solid since. The power graphic and some of the other items mentioned have not been affected. I do remember when I talked with the tech doing the updates about the horror stories of...
While not familiar with the Maverick ecoboost setup (hybrid driver), on my other vehicles,I always looked for inlet air temp to be as close to ambient as possible. Is this this temperature sensor at the inlet, after the compressor, at the manifold after the intercooler? How does the temperature...
I am still waiting for the list of all the updates that were done, but it took 3.5hrs at the dealership. I know the two taillights and a telematics reprogram was done, and zero issues so far, including the deep sleep issue gone, although it has only been two weeks. I was going to defer having...
Random related question: how accurate is the odometer? I have never checked but I just use the displayed miles driven and look for 520 miles combined range, driven plus the displayed range to empty. That tells me I am at 40mpg actual for 13 gallons to refill the tank. I stopped obsessing over...
