  1. Safe to leave a key fob in the truck?

Yes, I was talking about the alarm system which according to Ford is not supposed to activate if the fob is inside the car. Apparently some folks move the fobs far enough back in the car so that they’re out of range of the ignition and that’s how I think they’re able to do it - either that or...
  2. Safe to leave a key fob in the truck?

Maybe ecoboost and hybrid work differently? Maybe keypad vs door lock work differently? Try leaving window open with fob sitting on center console. Then lock via door button. Wait a minute then reach through window and unlock/open door. Does alarm sound? Try same procedure using keypad...
  3. Safe to leave a key fob in the truck?

Interesting. It appears you are half right anyway. on my 25 XLT you can lock it with the door button and The alarm is active but only if the key fob is outside of the car, if the key fob is in the car and you lock it with the door button. The alarm is not activated. Apparently the system is...
  4. Safe to leave a key fob in the truck?

The car remembers where the Fob is before it sleeps even IF it even sleeps in the car. you might want to do a test. From what I understand the alarm system only activates via the Fob, not via ford pass, keypads, nor manual locking.

I read that it quits “transmitting “ after 40 seconds of no motion, however no mention Regarding the “receiving “ function, so the car might still know of its presence. Also the design was for when the fob is in the “house” to prevent thieves from cloning it from outside the house. No mention...

Same here. Instructions are terrible though so it took much trial and error to finally get it right.
  10. QUESTION: Full Size Spare Tire Touching Rear of Factory Trailer Hitch

Yes, what Ford supplies as a “ full-size “ is not really a full-size. It has a smaller diameter. Bigger than a doughnut, but smaller/shorter than your other tires.
  11. Effin' Screw Up

I would get a new license plate or this is just gonna keep happening. ;)
  12. What is this for?

Interesting. I was just looking on my 2025 XLT and it doesn’t have such an access panel in the Console. I don’t see anything around the transmission shift knob either like some cars have. Does anybody know where the transmission release is for a 2025 XLT.?

  19. Installing Auto start / stop elimination harness

Yes, the video that came with the hardware showed them bending back the bracket, but the bracket has been totally redesigned now so you can’t bend it back it used to just be a straight piece of metal sticking up that you could easily bend. now the metal goes up and curves around the top and over...
