so you are suggesting that holes magically appeared in the thick aluminum slats on the RetraxPro MX?
I‘ve owned 3 and still have 2.
these are relatively thick aluminum slats…. no fabric or exposed rubber etc.

I have no idea what cover you really had but someone is not getting "holes" in a RetraxPro MX's thick aluminum slats without a sawsall, a drill, or a plasma cutter........
;)
.
I have (2) of these in every vehicle (except the on-board halon car). I tested one before making the total investment, it worked well with very long discharge time (5x a standard chemical extinguisher)... Super small and easy to store....

^ Did you try a search within ~200 miles of your zip on the Ford site to see if a similar truck is available? Omit the cover, mud flaps etc., they can be easily added after the truck is located
I see many on the ground within a couple hundred miles of me in Maryland.
good luck

My only words of encouragement would be to do what you need to do to fix the (overall) issue, don't just settle for something that you're not happy with.
Otherwise it will live rent-free in your head every time you drive or think about the truck..
Keep us posted...

Resurrecting this thread. How is the camera housing assembly removed from the tailgate?
Can it be popped off from the rear w/o removing the inner tailgate panel?
thanks
