  1. Motortrend 2023 Maverick Tremor First Test Review: There's nothing else like this truck on sale today

Right. But I can tell by some of the comments, like people wanting to add a bypass style shock that these people are either willing to waste money, or are thinking about doing things with this truck that it really shouldn't do.
  2. Good looking aftermarket Wheels?

No offense to anyone on here, as taste varies between owners. But, I have seen some not so awesome fitments posted here. Go to Custom Offsets website. They have one of the better selections of wheels for these that I have seen.
  3. Motortrend 2023 Maverick Tremor First Test Review: There's nothing else like this truck on sale today

I think the people who take this unibody truck and try to do any serious off-roading with it are going to end up in tears with all the parts they break. I love this truck. But I have serious doubts about this being a serious off road capable vehicle
  4. My 2023 Maverick Lariat Tremor (in Avalanche) is Here!

For sure it is because you live in Portland.
  5. Any one have any pics of interior differences for the Tremor XLT to Lariat?

Style and taste are a matter of opinion. In mine, regardless of Tremor preferences, the XL trim is not remotely the best looking interior. Simplest. Most boring. Sure.
  6. My 2023 Maverick Lariat Tremor (in Avalanche) is Here!

I do not regret my truck. But if Tremor had been available for 22 no question that is what I would have gone with. Same color pallet as the OP for the exterior, but I think I would do the cloth interior. Congrats on the ride!
  7. My 2023 Maverick Lariat Tremor (in Avalanche) is Here!

This looks awesome! Congrats! Also, why is it they can't have it ready by tomorrow?
  8. Headlights Control Knob Question

I see this ALL the time too. It makes me insane that people are that disconnected from their cars. This Maverick it the first car ive ever seen that defaults that way. Most cars the rotary has hard detents and you out it on auto it stays. But if you turn the lights off for any reason, it will...
  9. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

You are really bad at forum's. This is not what you said. If this is what you meant, you should have said that. Instead, you said that the local guy gets the same gas as Chevron. No caveats. So again. My interpretation of what you actually said was correct. I am done bastardizing this thread...
  10. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

All topics on a forum are contentious. There is a book that the moderators should post for sale. It is called The Death of Expertise. And is something most people should read.
  11. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

You said the local guy is getting his gas from the same rack as Chevron. That statement has nothing to do with additives or ounces or any other god damn thing LOL. The ONLY way to interpret this is that you are saying the local guy is selling the same gas as Chevron. I was an English major, and...
  12. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

Is there another way to interpret this? " Do you think the independent guy is drilling his own oil and refining his own fuel? Don't think so. 99.8% chance his truckload came from the same rack as Chevron's. "
  13. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

In fairness you are right about many things. But, you cannot go around saying shit like the local quickie mart is selling the same fuel as Chevron, but at a $1.00 less per gallon. Because 99.8% chance you are wrong. Chevron's additives really work. That fuel has been bench marked many times and...
  14. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

The truck requires 87 from the factory. In what way would you imagine it might harm the engine? The worst thing about modern fuel, especially in places like California is the added ethanol. No modern fuel you can buy out of a regular old gas pump is going to hurt your car. That conversation is...
  15. Squeaky Brakes When Cold

This is can be normal for any car made regardless of price tag. Don't believe me, come pay a visit and I can point it out on $300K cars. I don't know what all the dynamics are, but when it is cold it will often induce some squeak for a few applications, and often under light braking while...
  16. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

Mercedes uses the "same" 4.0 V8 across several models. It can make from under 400hp to more than 700 in factory trims. When you start looking at the things needed to make those power numbers the similarities start to fade.
  17. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

I see the point you are trying to make. But the change in displacement isn't part of the conversation. We are talking about power. And 60hp difference between cars is A LOT. If the Maverick made that power (come on Ford-Mav ST please) it would be a VERY different vehicle in terms of drive...
  18. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

You may be right, and you may not. There is no room for assumptions in this kind of conversation. The Mustang makes a lot more power and is designed to make that power specifically with the higher octane fuel. The conversation is different when you discuss an engine required to run on higher...
  19. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

I would be curious at some point to test myself. But a .1 drop in 0-60 OR 10hp is negligible to me, and to most drivers. Again, depending on local fuel costs the increase in fuel cost is not likely to pencil out in terms of the gain in mileage. Read the article I posted. Also, you are describing...
  20. Octane vs MPG, 87 vs 93, anyone compared?

That is not arbitrarily true. Octane is a measure of a fuels resistance to detonation. Some cars may make more peak power with a fuel change, others lose power. Here is a single article that tests on 4 cars and is pretty good information. It also shows that sometimes the power increase doesn't...
